Re: Raise main sheet cam cleat
How do you reach the boom when.... lets say, wing on wing? You would need arms like an OrangutanReverse the main-sheet so that the cam cleat hangs from the boom. That's what I do. So I reach up to the boom to release or tighten the sheet. Problem solved.

Re: Shroud covers
The PO put on what I assume to be removable chafe guards (with velco) - they work well.

In Canada, if the trailer is over 50% of the weight of the vehical, and over 2000lbs, you need brakes. For the sake of a trip here or there in the first season, I might wait untill winter to do this, even though it is kinda illegial. I am towing with a 2003 toyota 4 runner (base model, the "sr...

Re: Boom-less Main Sail
Michael,
I've got to ask, where do you sail with that rig? It seems to me to be something for a much smaller boat and wouldn't stand up to much of a blow.

Re: steering linkage pop quiz
How many of you disconnect your motos on a regular basis? I am about 50-50. I have the same setup, but I had to use rubber washers on the the motor attachment because I needed a little more movement to attach it to the rudder bracket when disconnected in the full up position. I found the boat steer...

Re: bilge water when going fast
I had the same issue. On mine it was the seal around the bracket bolt that holds the centre board. Fortunately it is easy to troubleshoot, just have someone watch the two areas (bolt and post) and bring the boat to speed with the motor- it'll be evident.

Re: Do my mast lights meet regulations???
Okay, on the very top of mast I have a 360 degree white light, and a tiny 360 degree LED light. Also, a couple inches below the spreaders a light is mounted on the forward face of the mast pointing down at the deck. 1) The two at the top, is one the steaming and the other the anchor ? And if so, th...

Joe,
When you re-bed the windows make sure whatever product you use is compatible with the plexi. There can be reactions which can affect the seal and cause a leak. Good luck with it all.

Power Tilt and a Battery Combiner
I’d thought I throw this out just in case someone has the same set up and encountered the same problem or maybe can shed some light on it. I was having an intermittent problem with the power trim and tilt on my engine - sometimes it would work and sometimes it wouldn’t. I had tried to troubleshoot b...

Re: steering boot missing?
I suggest you get into the aft berth and caulk where they exit after the boot is in place. Also, check the caulking in the seam in the fuel locker space - if you have a small mirror it will be easier to inspect.

Re: Steering cable snapped?
I will first have to use some lumber to improvise a tidy structure to lift my mast up higher than the support device attached to the helm, because I need it up and out of the way when I remove the helm. (I can't simply raise the mast as I'm having some halyards replaced.) I'll report here what I fi...

Re: 26x wiring question
I used a coat hanger. Tape the electrical wire to the top of the hanger and work from bottom of the boat up vice from the panel down. If you need to run multiple wires, tape a string on the hanger as well and then pull the wires back once you have reached the panel. I ran a couple of spare wires for...
