RE to propping: Here is an Email I have from the BWY's engine tech, when I removed the DF50 and put on the DF70A. ----- Sent: Wednesday, March 16, 2011 2:59 PM Subject: DF 70A Prop We use the 13 7/8" X 15" Pitch Suzuki Prop, part number 5811-87L10-019. If the boat is heavily loaded and the...

Re: Prop Ventilation Issues
Randy, Kinda late in the game for my advice, may I suggest do not lower the motor unless (as was mentioned) you are going in the ocean. My first Mac was the 26x I had the same cavatation plate setting as you have. I had a 50 HP Yamaha 4 stroke Hi trust with a 14 dia. x 10 pitch no problem. Our heavy...

Re: marina steering with fixed engine
Bob, Speaking of power thursters and steering, I have a question about when rudders are up and ballast is out. When I do a turn at 12-14 kts with the power thuster mounted I notice the boat seems to heel into the turn more that an enging with the thrusters. Did you notice that after you put the thus...

Re: New Musclehead arrived----Batten question???
I bought a slug shackle that has the small screw, dropped it and lost it on the 2nd outting. I bought another, this time the screw had a hole in it. I used a piece of nylon string about 6" long put it in the screw's hole and put a large knot in the end of the string. The other end was feed thro...

Repower from DF50 to DF70A
Hi guys,
I want to repower my 2005 26M that has a DF50, to a DF70A.
Will my current cables, RPM / alarm light gauge and harness work with the DF70A?
I tried the local dealers they are a bit slow to respond.
They are more than willing to sell me engine though :0)

Re: Completed install of Electrical Panel, VHF and Stereo
The Neg & Positive are very close, If not the terminal hoods/covers rotate one battery 180 degrees so the same polarity terminals (NEG terminals) are side by side.
It will reduce the possibility of shorting them with a tool or other metal object.

Re: Chesapeake Bay
James, I thought it went pretty good, we had two 26Xs and two 26Ms. We all rafted up to a raft near High Island in the Rhode River. It was a floating feast of Hotdogs, barbqued beef sandwiches, surfer salid, fresh fruit, chips, and a number of different beverages! We then checked out each others boa...

I have a slip near Half Moon Bay, I do not have to go through the setup routine, so I'll be going out to sail around a bit on Sat. Re to anchoring out, Half Moon Bay is somewhat expossed to Southerly winds. Saturday, if people do showup, I would suggest we anchor behind O'neill Island farther up the...

Temall00, as mentioned before, there is a ramp in Cadle Creek, opposite of where Rick spent a night in the msg just above your post. Find rt 214 heading East toward Mayo, MD. When you see the Old Stein Inn on your right start looking for the Mayo post office, a single level building made of cinder b...

Re: rudder alignment, starboard turns, search issues
Hardcrab, I had a simular situation as your "On our boat, it can "push" (port turn) further than it can "pull" (stbd turn). It seems to be limited on the pull stroke by the engine coupling bolt/pin hitting the fiberglas at the exit hole." It happens to me when motoring ...

Re: Chesapeake Bay
July 6th is good, Rhode River has some protected water behind one of the islands. Fairlee Creek has a nice long beach to walk and protected water inside the Creek it self.
Looking foward to see all the different mods and setups on the boats!

Re: A lesson in going back to the "Basics"
Those 3 issues were a good reminders of 'go slow' when we have not been on our boat for awhile. My problem is moving faster than thinking when going from sailing to power mode. Raise the dagger board, raise the rudders, hit the throttle. . . . . what is wrong with my steering!!!! I forget to move th...
