Re: Dry Head vs Traditional Porti-P
The only problem with your solution is it is not legal on the Great Lakes in Ontario. Porti potties on board boats will get you a fine if inspected of around $500.

Re: New running water system finally working !
I went to the local hardware store and bought a small pressurized tank to avoid the on/off/on problem. Tank is only about a foot high and works really well

Re: Barrier Coat???
If you are gonna paint the hull anyways why not take the extra day or 2 and use the barrier coat. I have a 2002 26x and I had a case of "acne" on the hull. They were dry inside so I sanded the hull smooth and applied both a barrier coat and anti fouling. I wish I had put the barrier coat o...

Re: To Batten or Not
I kept losing battens as they fell out they sank immediately so I made a set of battens out of some scrap teak stock. I sealed them with a couple of coats of varathane. works great

Re: Name Competition
I named my boat "Miss Reba Lynn" after my daughter. It will always remind me of the close bond we had until the teen years.

Re: Lettering
Morning All, One of many items to do this winter on my new :macm: is lettering for the boat name and home port. I've seen at marinas, boats carrying the name of the owners "hometown" in lieu of the "home port." Is one generally considered "proper" over the other? I don...

Re: porta potti
yes I have installed one on my :macx: . I had to install a pressurized water system on board for the flush function but it was well worth the expence. Here in Ontario it is illegal to have a Porta potti on board. I found that this offence also fell under the Federal Fisheries Act and if they could p...

Re: Need Prop Help for 02' Honda 50 on 02' 26X
I have a 02 :macx: running the 02 Honda BF50. I use the Piranha propeller system. With a 12 X 11C 3 blade I get just under 16 Knots (18 MPH) at 5700 RPM. with a 10 3/8 X 13 I get 14 Knots at 5500 RPM. However the engine runs quieter with the smaller diameter and it seems to run flatter (Bow not so h...

Re: Questions about sealing/painting hull
Last night I washed the hull and scraped the Zebra mussels out of the centerboard locker i found that it is very narrow. so my next question is does anyone know how to sand this cavity so epoxy and paint will hold? When the rain stops I will wash the hull with interlux 202 prior to sanding. Stupid R...

Re: Questions about sealing/painting hull
Last night I completed construction of the supports for my boat. I quess calling it a cradle was the wrong term as I built the supports with 4 X 4's and 2 X 4's. then I will us a couple of hydralic jacks to raise the boat off the trailer and support them with 6 Ton Jack stands. I am using 6 ton stan...

Re: Questions about sealing/painting hull
Thank you for your help. I have another question about the paint. How long will it keep if the can is closed properly? I am thinking of buying a gallon of Blue, as it is only $45 dollars more than 2 quarts, and i figure I will have a quart or two left of both blue and black. Also the instructions fo...
