Re: Job x-fer to Orlando Airport
Sorry to revive an old thread but I finally made it to Florida! Just so happened that a spot opened up in Tampa and we moved down here in August of this year. We ended up in Land O Lakes where we could get the house we needed and good school for the kids. I sold my :macx: a few years ago and bought ...

Replace Genoa with Jib?
My 150 Genny is about to blow out. I want to get a replacement sail for next season but not sure what route to take. The Judy B sails look awesome and well priced for what you get. But the BWY stock ones are very reasonable. The other thing is should I get another 150 Genoa or switch to a 100 Jib? I...

Re: Oooops
Nice recovery Mac-Gyver! I like your "too short" video to. I see your view of the land is just as pretty as ours. We're just missing the cooling tower. I am on vacation through Sept 8th and plan on getting out as much as possible. We should try to plan a meet halfway or I can give you a ri...

Agreed Cat, I should have removed it when I first saw it. Two years ago!

Re: leaking bilge check valve
Installed the vented loop and new bilge pump yesterday. Also installed new pump assy for my jabsco toilet. The service kit was $56.00 but instead I splurged and bought the whole upgraded twist and lock pump assy for $56.00.

leaking bilge check valve
Spent the night one saturday and woke up to hear youngest son saying "wow, look at all that water!" The cabin had about 5" of water in it. I had turned off the bilge pump late that night because the switch lamp was too bright. Glad i did because I found out the problem in the slip and...

Re: Time for repower....maybe
Got my parts installed. The 120.00 fuel manifold came with the 110.00 fuel injectors installed :o The fuel pump was trashed. Missing the lower grommet to keep it in place, connector cracked and the casting at the top was cracked off and nowhere to be found. I replaced the IAC solenoid, Fuel pump, hi...

Re: Time for repower....maybe
Turns out a coworker has a Mercury DDT scanner He's bringing it in tonight so I can scan tomorrow. I'll post results and what I find inside the vapor separator, maybe even pics in case someone else has to tear into one.

Re: Time for repower....maybe
Went out for more trouble shooting today. PO had a Racor water separator in the parts bucket. I installed that along with the new tank and primer/line. I noticed the high psi pump sounded weak when I turned on the key and checked resistance. Supposed to be 30-40ohms but its reading 3 ohms. It doesn'...

Re: Time for repower....maybe
I have a 2002 Mercury 30 ELPT EFI serial # 0T460582. Last 3 times out it would start at the dock and run fine through throttle range. I would shut down and sail around for a few hours. When I go to restart it would crank fine, sometimes fire, sometimes run for a few seconds. First 2 times out I got ...

Time for repower....maybe
Been having problems with my merc 30EFI. I did all I can do without diagnostic tools so I need to find someone to service it. Anyone near Hammond Indiana know of a outboard repair place? I was hoping not to have to tow it to the dock to trailer it, would like someone to come out and do it. The other...

Re: First overnight trip this weekend
Trip is cancelled. Went out on the 4th and had great sailing. When we got close to marina the outboard would not start. Has happened before but started after letting sit for 30 minutes or so. This time no go. Called Boatus and sailed around for an hour till he showed up. Got towed in, wife embarrass...

First overnight trip this weekend
We are planning on taking our :macx: on a weekend trip from our home port, Hammond Marina. We are thinking about sailing to Michigan City and doing the zoo for the kids, shopping for the wife and beach for me... Any pointers on what to bring or leave behind? We still haven't got the interior "o...

Re: Tip of the day ...Post yours
1) Disconnect the shore power BEFORE pulling back from slip. 2) Remove rudder trailing bolts before getting wet. 3) Make sure forestay is on correct side of baby stays before raising mast. 4) tie mast raising line to forward cleat. Use quick pin in johnson lever (must have lever installed first :P )...
