Re: Alternative Swing keel replacement
Hi team, Did you mean water Is coming from the keel pivot bolt? In such case, my venture 25 has 2 rubber seal between the pivot bolt and the boat surface. Also to reduce the lateral movement, i created a teflon disk of 0.100 inch thick and diameter of 5 inches that i slide between the keel and the b...

Re: MAC Gregor 25 (MAC25) Keel Drawing
Thank you for the information. I will try to combine the piece by piece information and create a 3D model. I will post the drawing as soon it will be completed. The 3D model is important to ensure the new keel shape will fit the boat but also the space available between the boat and the trailer. Kee...

MAC Gregor 25 (MAC25) Keel Drawing
Hi everyone,
I am looking for the keel drawing (or detail dimensioning) of the MAC25 1986. The one I have is homemade and I schedule to make the retoration this winter (2011).
Let me know if you have any drawing including picture.

Re: Zincs on Keel
I owned a MAC25 and wondering if you have taken your keel detail dimension when you did your repair? Also some picture would be great. Mine is an homemade and I try to find what is the exact shape of the original keel.

Re: 1986 Macgregor 25
Welcome to the word of the Mac Gregor. I have a MC25 1986 and sail great. One trick I did to find a leaking path from my hull, I simply fill the boat with 2 inches of water. Then using the trailer, I change the boat position. This allow the water to move at specific location inside the boat. I was a...

Re: MacGregor 25 - GPS Installation
Tagentair, I was thinking to installed a column (console) in the middle of the deck like one feet foward the end of the tiller. But not sur for the look and also for the space. You mentioned that even that installation (like the 26M) you have difficulty in seing the screen. Anyone else have GPS moun...

MacGregor 25 - GPS Installation
Hi Team, I buy a GPS from Standards Horizon. I wonder if any of you have picture showing where did you install GPS display? On the Mac 25 there are no center pod. So I feel that I will need to mounted near the cabin door. But still feel that this might be too far to see the detail from the bar? Any ...

Re: Hull Deck Separation
Hi Pete, I am really impress by the extend of the work you are doing. If you have a chance, could you make some picture shot on the inside of the hull (detail of the keel boss). For the extra patch, Is that correspond to the drain area?!? On my MAC 25, I have the water drain for the deck at this loc...

Re: Strange looking keel cable bolt for my 1985 Mac 25
Hi MarkyMarc, Looking at the picture, I agree with you that you need to replaced the cable and the attachment at the keel. As mentioned by Johny, they previously cut the cable on one side and decide to make a temporarily installation on the other side. I would be afraid that cable could disconnect f...

Re: MacGregor 25 Winterize Time
Hi Markaram, Due to a rush situation (I had to leave due business) I found a fix for my problem by investing into a big car shelter (call "tempo"). It was expensive (1200.00$) but I simply trailer the Sailboat into it and close the door. I was able to get access a few time. The dimension i...

Re: EE with Electrical Issues
Hi team, Could it be possible that you have an issue with the antenna? If the radio you have is equip with a CD player, check if it the same with the CD player. If you have the same defect with the CD than I will look to power supply (connection). If no change with CD player than you should suspect ...

Re: Change both Batteries or only One?
Hello Team, My opinion on changing both batteries or only one. I will suggest to change only the defective batterie (the weak one). The reason behind, is it better to have 2 different batteries in term of age. In this condition you avoid the risk of a total failure from both batteries in the same ti...

Re: SAILBOAT LIFTING FOR MAINTENANCE
Mikey, That good concept, basic and efficient. During the lifting process, are you leaving the keel down and free so it removed a good part of the weight. After you bring it back on the trailer, no damage to the hull where it was making contact with the wood. Once on the block, can you go inside the...

SAILBOAT LIFTING FOR MAINTENANCE
Hi Team, I would like to know if anyone has made a lifting device for the Sailboat (mine is a MacGregor 25)? I would like to carry out a good surface inspection of the shell and may be a refresh paint on the next spring. But the sail boat being on the trailer did not get a good access for all the su...

Re: MacGregor 25 Winterize Time
Hi Jonhny, The slope will not be high enought to allow the snow to roll on the side. Also with the ramp on the Sail boat side, the snow will accumulate between the mast and the rail on the tarp. http://i489.photobucket.com/albums/rr255/mbertin/IMG_3178.jpg I saw information on special post support l...
