I don't get on here often, but I didn't seem to get a reply to my Swim Ladder problem.
I don't consider it safe to single hand without a ladder as I can't imagine a lad my age and size getting aboard any other way.

Re: Repowering with a Suzuki DF90a
Yes, I do, since the early 1970's. Built a partial kit, flew, became a dealer for 3 models, bought a gyro kit manufacturing company, sold it and have 3 right now. 2 are for sale as I'm getting to old and slow to do everything I want to do. https://i.postimg.cc/s1vLRq9D/30TM.jpg Built this https://i....

Re: Raymarine EV-100 Wheel Pilot -Mac26X
I am late to this party. I bought and installed the EVO a few years ago. Sadly, I haven't sailed very much and can't add much to the conversation. EXCEPT I installed the fluxgate in the console. Maybe I misread the instructions, but I thought the Flux sensor had to be installed near or on the center...

Re: Pix from the "hood"
I just went to check out the "most popular thread" and found out I started it. The thread seems to end in 2008 (except for this post) Am I missing something?

Re: Repowering with a Suzuki DF90a
I'm late to the party here. I bought my Suzuki 90 from a dealer several years ago. The dealer said they had to install it to keep the warranty. I think my total price with install, prop wedges, etc was maybe $11,000. certainly an upgrade. I have a problem in that the swim ladder can not be used as i...

Re: New Outboard Recommendations
I had a mystery problem with the factory Tohatsu (Nissan) and wound up buying a Suzuki 90hp. I had it installed and the total price was around 10K. Heavier that the 50hp, certainly more power. Rendered the swim ladder inop. and haven't found a replacement. i might make it like the companionway steps...

Re: Hammond Marina 26X
Years ago the companionway hatch cover on my MAC 25 was slid forward a few inches all Winter. What a mess that was.
I used the Scrubbing bubbles with great success at that time. Thanks for the reminder.

Re: Steering wander
They probably had an air bubble in the system?
As I understand, since a liquid is almost nearly in-compressible, any action is transmitted and actuated at the speed of sound through the fluid.
Think of auto brakes.
My
hydraulic conversion made all the difference in the world.

Steering wander
My :macx: (1998) Suzuki DF90 was no fun to pilot up the mighty Calumet River (south Chicago) I had all I could do to keep it between the banks. I noticed the PO had changed the steering cable to the new, preferred, option. Being nice to Ohana after seasons of neglect, I decided to opt for hydraulic ...

Re: We are starting the Great Loop for the second time.
We have a lot of pics under Mods. Look up water system under Mods search and then click on ris Did exactly as you said and saw the "trawler" pictures. I found a mast and sails from a 19 foot boat and seriously thought about a "short rig" to keep the sailing option and single han...

Re: I'm back...and other tales of woe
N.E. Wisc, good gyroplane description. They do have a motor (Rotax usually) and a prop to push them through the air. The rotor (above) acts like a wing that's flying 300 mph) making them easy, fun and safe to fly. I have been dreaming, building, and flying them since 1963. Walmart batteries? My loca...

Re: Hammond Marina 26X
The :macx:, the one that reeks of mildew, is mine. I have had a boat at the Hammond marina since they first opened. A Southcoast 22 Eclipse, MAC 25 and now my :macx: The much slower blue hulled :macm:is my neighbor (whom I seldom see). I believe he is from Chicago. Not too long ago there were (4) Ma...

Re: We are starting the Great Loop for the second time.
Wow! that's ambitious.
We have a great loop that takes us about 70 miles and I have been planning that trip for years.
I'd love to see a picture (or many) of your 26X "trawler".
How long will this great loop take? ..... roughly, of course.

I found your ballast. It's in my

Seriously, every year, when I used to bring the boat home, It was still dribbling water out until I got to my house 45 minutes away.

Re: I'm back...and other tales of woe
The woe got worse. :( In my last post I mentioned that my friend said "the bilge was dry" (he even sopped up the traces with beach blankets). I never got back to my boat, until the time came to haul it out of the slip. Apparently, the water came back and sat motionless in the poorly ventil...
