Re: No more polishing the black window stripes! New boat cover

Hey Joel, Can you please send me the name and telephone number of the company that made that for you...I would like to buy one. I have a 2008 Mac 26M just likes yours. I too am tired of scrubbing every several months trying to keep the oxidation off. Thanks a lot...it looks great! Lorenzo :macm:

Re: Polishing the black around the windows

I tried a few things that required a lot of rubbing and buffing...I found a product that I like that worked very well...it is called Nu Shine. My black was very oxidized and I thought I was going to have to take her in a shop to get this stuff to shine again. After applying, wiping and using a regua...

Buckshot in the daggerboard

Hi all, I am seriously thinking of adding the 50-100 lbs. of lead buckshot into my daggerboard in the near future... I wanted to know from those who have completed this mod if it is worth it...and if you can tell the difference while motoring, sailing and while docking (more control). Thanks a lot. ...

Re: Top annoying MacFeatures

I wish there was a real ice box with a draining system built into the galley (make it a little bigger). And I wish there was a factory built bilge pump! Also, a heavier dagger board with a 6:1 raising system that was factory tested and installed. I know this may add to the towing weight, but at leas...

Re: Sail on Mission Bay 06DEC09

Curtis, First let me say that you are a great man for taking care of your father in his golden years...there are not too many people today that would do that...your story touched my heart. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I was wondering if you could give me some advise regarding launching my...

Re: Name Competition

Boat name: Bumpcity Famed 70's music group Tower of Power referred to their city of orgin, Oakland, CA as "Bumpcity" Three reasons I chose this name: 1. Tower of Power is my favorite all time band 2. I was born in Oakland, CA 3. When the boat gets going in the bay on a good day...it's like...

Hi Curtiss, Welcome to the site! I am also from the bay area (north of the bay that is...Santa Rosa) and find your story very interesting and inspiring regarding the downsize and your plans to travel around the US with your Mac. Re: Will the Ballast tank hold water for long periods?

Thanks for the feedback...I was just chatting with my brother who told me that he opened the ballest while the boat was at the dock getting ready to be placed on the trailer and that is why it was partially drained...I also am going to do the clorox suggestion...it was very stinky this time around! ...

Will the Ballast tank hold water for long periods?

Hello all, My Mac 26M has been berthed in a slip for the past 8 months with a full ballast (I normally leave it full). Yesterday, I pulled her out of the water and opended the ballast on the launch ramp to drain the tank. The tank spilled water as it has in the past, however to my suprise, it only d...

I have had four adults and a Cock-a-poo on my M and we were comfortable...A little tight, but very doable.

Hey WRDaly, Have you been on the bahaha before? I see you have an X, were you planning on taking it to baha? Just curious...I will be trailering my M down to San Diego next may and will most likely try to get a slip at the Police docks near Kona Kai Marina...Unless you have another suggestion. I lov...

Hey Timmay, I am at Quantico, however I have been out of the Marine Corps since 86! I was at Lejeune also for about three year and then went over to Pendleton for three. I have to tell you it is good to be back on a Marine Base, at least for a while...haha...I guess I am showing my age...any way, I ...

Re: Pulling the trigger!!! :D

Hey Timmay, Congrats on the new boat! If you need a crew member that is familiar with the M, let me know... I am currently in Quantico, Virginia and have not been on my boat all summer (in California!) I would love to help you get started with the set up etc. I have had mine for about three years an...
