Re: The boat on its side in the Solent
Oh, for crying out loud, you just bought the boat in June. I know it's been 20 years since you last sailed, but you really ought to give it more than a couple of months before you bail out. Your 26D is a fine boat, and very safe. Now get your butt out there and sail it! Take another sailor with you...

Re: The boat on its side in the Solent
Berful - do you understand that a keelboat would go straight to the bottom in this circumstance, and that the Mac design saved both the sailor and the boat here? I confess I dont understand your concern.. Are you suggesting that ALL fixed keel boats that are blown on their side sink? Do you believe...

Re: The boat on its side in the Solent
Im a newby but this photo is in fact unnerving to say the least. As I look at the photos I ,like all of us, have many questions: was he under sail? where is the centerboard that would provide the likely leverage to right the boat? Im nervously looking, thinking gasoline tanks, battery acid, stove al...

Re: How fast is your Mac???
Holy Crap! I didn't know I am supposed to know my hull speed. Thats it for me,I give up . I'm still trying to get out of the Marina without bumping into something and now its hull speed? I thought "hull speed" was somehow related to the size of my butt and switching seats while tacking. Ma...

ballast tank problem
Hello! I have an 89 26D. Problem: The ballast system has two holes in the top.A large one that houses the mechanism that opens the tank on the bottom of the boat and a small hole for an air bleed. My boat has been in salt water so much that the mechanism that turns to open and close the bottom inlet...

Re: Sept 18 (?) Catalina Run being set up.
Hello to all! I recently acquired a 26D. I would very much like to join your Catalina run. I have at least two problems. I haven't sailed in over 20 years but did quite a bit of sailing way back on a 14' Lido. Secondly ,the thought of getting into trouble out in the channel is enough to cause a &quo...

Re: Catalina Island Armada (formerly: Summer Sailstist)
hello to all ! I just bought a "D" boat (26D).I desperately want to get this boat on the water and join the Catalina Armada. Here's the problem. I haven't sailed in 20 years and the idea of getting into trouble out there causes me some serious "puckering". My boat is sound and ha...
