Re: Finally, a wind instrument that will work with a Mac!

US price seams reasonable. https://www.marine.com/store/c/364-Marine-Instruments.html?pi=2 I haven't found a reference to rotating masts as yet. Clipper dose not have rotating mast support... even if they did, you would have to design the mechanics to make it work with Mac 26M. I've looked at the s...

Re: Finally, a wind instrument that will work with a Mac!

But the Raymarine stuff breaks all the time, I know my ST50 wind unit has had 2 wind senders on it before the PO gave up, probably from frustration and empty pockets, lost of the Raymarine stuff is now made in Asia, just like every other brand Except for the Pegasus AeroNautic Wind Sailor & Wind Se...

Re: Finally, a wind instrument that will work with a Mac!

I wouldn't be too fast to jump on what will "work" on a :macm: or not, what-ever you get you might need some of your own testing to proper located the sensor. If you look at the frame shape on this wind sensor top: http://www.flyorsail.com/images/e8459366838e41c492044a74b6f1b8be_g1ga_la8l.png You'll...

Re: Finally, a wind instrument that will work with a Mac!

RM-10, okay - got it - I will make sure I ask for the RM-10. I will find RM-10 on the website. I would prefer to display it on the chart plotter because I use my plotter to run a wifi network on the boat for my ipad and iphone and tablets. I assume I call the number on the site to place an order.(?...

Re: Finally, a wind instrument that will work with a Mac!

Okay, it's still raining here - I will get a fish down that mast and get back to you. Does that indicator panel that mounts on the bulkhead output any NMEA sentences? Should I connect the bulkhead indicator to my Ray Marine backbone or do I need another device for that? Edit - just checked the webs...

Re: Finally, a wind instrument that will work with a Mac!

Boat: Yes, when the mast is down, the AFT corners face down. Yes you can slip a fish tape all the way down the mast. If you want to try it one day and prep it, just run a piece of string in there and leave it. The Wind Sailor kits include all the wiring, and cannon type connectors pre-assembled. Aft...

Re: Finally, a wind instrument that will work with a Mac!

Boat : Depending on the year of your MAC, you may of may not want conduit. The later years (2006-though the Tattoo 26's) all use the smaller mast. You can tell you have the smaller mast via the mast gate. The older Mac have the sail slot spread apart for feeding the sail (or sail slugs) in. The late...

Re: Finally, a wind instrument that will work with a Mac!

I'm the opposite. I would like something I can easily and quickly remove from the mast (because I don't this the wind instrument likes being bounced around or dragged through the air at 110Klm/H!!). I can do this easily with the SailTimer's, single bolt fitting and no wires. Boat, No ladder require...

Re: Mast Base Ball Bearing 26M BWY vs ease of rotation

You want to lube the washer with a nice coat of quality marine grease, but you need to make sure you don't get any on the bolt treads, infact clean it real well with degreaser. Through away the old nyloc nut away and replace it with a new one... or replace it with a Stainless Steal Flex-Top (all met...

Chris.
Are you going to stop sailing and just fly planes now?

No plans on stopping anything, just need cash to fund the next project. 8) 8) 8)

Re: CL scammer useing a members boats/pics

Well you all guessed right... it is a scam, someone stole my pictures and created a phony post to take advantage of STUPID people. I'm going to try to contact Craig's list and have it taken down - or maybe they can catch the guy ?? I'll repost what I find out. Thanks' for the watchful eyes that spot...

Re: Finally Hot Water!

We installed pressurized water & hot water durring the second season of owning our 26M. The admiral likes a HOT shower in the morning and hot water at the sink to do dishes. I put 30+ gallons under the aft bed and added a convenient external fill port on the port side of the hull: http://i1208.photo...

Re: "Sub $600 Autopilot" Progress

That's another thing I need to look at - that wind indicator. I just keep putting off projects - I really need to get busy on this stuff! We just started shipping the RM-10 this year, which is a lower cost - remote sensor system that you interface to your chartploter for display of wind data.

Re: "Sub $600 Autopilot" Progress

I made one 3D print set of parts for my project, before committing $10K in hard tooling... It was a scary moment in the life of the Wind Sailor. The tooling house did a great job and the production parts are real good quality. I evaluated CNC for some pieces but ultimately decide to cast everything ...
