Ya fall off the site for a couple years and all those newbies you knew are now old salts.
Good on all of you;)

Here's hoping all your endeavors have been a success

Re: Rigging the boom to cockpit floor

As it is an older boat, it couldn't hurt to re-seal that ring on the floor (called a "padeye")

Take it loose, put some sealant on the threads and in the holes. Then re-install.

Re: Water line strip on V222

Try "GooGone"
I like the large spray bottle (about $7 @ home depot)

Let it sit on the glue awhile. Works great on many adhesives.

Re: Lake mead water level at an all-time low

Hi all, And yet, just down river, Lake Havasu never changes more than about 6 inches. In fact, most of the lakes on the Colorado I've seen haven't changed very much, except Mead. So, what's up with that :?: Meanwhile here in California, Guess when the last time in recent history we were having the "...

Re: Mast Raising Magic?

Here's one I built. It is simple, installs in seconds and can be operated from the ground or on the boat. This is great for single handed rigging  https://app.box.com/s/wwre10uq9pbvf54qakoq (click on the first pic then you can click through them, zoom in, etc.) The ATV winch is from Harbor Fre...

Re: Getting broken aluminum tube out of stainless sleeve

Naval Jelly  But I've done this with the "Scratch All" method mentioned above. Wood dowel inside the spreader also works well. Don't know about the M but I have shortened the spreaders on both X and D boats, by the amount that fits inside the spreader sockets, with good results. This make it e...

Re: Boat Covers have their limits

Have the Sail Warehouse cover for about a year now. It's blowing up in the 60-70s right now. The cover doesn't care. It can be driven down the freeway in this wind anyway. It looks like the day I received it in the mail (brand new) This cover is pricey, but it is great! Very easy to install/remove t...

Re: 2015 Schedule of Las Vegas Bay Macgregor Association

Hello Steve, Kimo, and Newel. First, I have to announce that as of Friday, January 23 I am officially "RETIRED" from the City of Los Angeles. 30.5 years of government service is complete and now it is time for me to coastal sail all over both coasts of the US. I am working on some home projects and...

Re: 2015 Schedule of Las Vegas Bay Macgregor Association

Any indications of how many are attending this early, January? Will be in NOLA April but could gather up and travel. :| :macx: Hi Newell, I plan to attend (April). I'll be dropping my boat into the local pond after(Silverwood Lake) in May or June, for a couple months, maybe three. I'm going to try ...

Re: Tattoo 26 with Sail Warehouse 26M Winter Cover

I was thinking of just taking the life lines loose and see if the rain water would now run off the sides, instead of puddling in the cover.

Re: Outboard rudder

Harrison, When I had my X, I was slipped at Dana Point for awhile. I can't speak for your M, but I did find the best way to get to Catalina was to sail there. But if I had a short weekend I'd motor, full speed, no ballast, all boards up. My X boat did have a 160 mile range, motoring (two 12gl tanks ...

Re: Tattoo 26 with Sail Warehouse 26M Winter Cover

I have this cover for my boat (26D version). This is the best investment one can make for any of these boats. :) After the summer sun here on the desert. The cover has held up great for the year I've had it. It looks brand new and hasn't faded. The boat itself looks better than ever, particularly th...
