Re: Hull shape and trailer center clearance

I'm not a fan of roller bunks, but they do offer some advantages (probably eliminate the need to Macbump the boat when loading). As long as you strap the boat well when trailering (including bow to back of trailer straps to prevent the boat from joining you in the front seat), it should be fine. Re...

Re: Summer 2021 Photos

Nice pics, mac n cheese. I’ve never beached my boat, mainly because I’ve never had it at a beach where that would be practical. Lotta sand in Cape Cod, but way too much wave and wake action. Same for Lake Ontario. Maybe some day, with grandkids. I have the grandkids, but some day hasn’t gotten here ...

What's particularly disturbing is the Haulover vid at the start where the woman goes over the side, with no life jacket, and the boat not only keeps going, but seems to get on the gas a bit. I don't know if they even knew she went over. Good thing those two jet skis were close by and saw her in the ...

I should have also stated that over the last several years, Oswego’s snowfall has been considerably less than the thirty year average. Syracuse, NY has averages more than Oswego.😁 Buffalo and Rochester (where I am) average 100" a year, and Syracuse averages 120" a year. Coming from DE, so...

Re: Summer 2021 Photos

The enclosure is my favorite part of the boat, and I'm starting to think about replacing it panel-by-panel. Harder than it sounds, though. Why do you want to replace it? I replaced the windows in my dodger myself (easier than you might think), and in the bimini (which I put there so I could see the...

- sanitation systems while on water? My FIL was boarded and fined on his 42 ft Kadey-Krogen on Lake Champlain because even though his macerator was valved off and the handle secured, there wasn't an air gap in the plumbing to the discharge thru hull. Would have been a huge fine if it was not valved...

Sorry about the young woman…that’s tragic :? :?
Well, it is just a movie, but it was based on real events, so that’s sad in the end. Made by the same guy who makes Yellowstone and 1883 (Taylor Sheridan).

Something to do on those long cold frozen snow bound near arctic nights close to the sputtering fire by the light of a candle’s flame… :D :D Funny you should say that. We’re watching Wind River right now, though not in front of a sputtering fire. It’s cold and snow covered here, but it’s even more ...

I used to whip such splices back in the day, but I’ve gotten a bit lazy about that sort of thing these days.

Re: 26M trailering: hold rudders up and lock steering?

I brought a 5-wire cable to the rear with 5-flat receptacle on the end, zip tied to the goal post on the driver's side. The light bar just plugs into that, so the cable is short. https://i.postimg.cc/GH8576q0/Boat-trailer-lights-001-obscured.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/dZTj6cv4/Boat-trailer-lights-006....

Re: 2022 Gathering of the Faithful - Lake Champlain, NY/VT

I like the idea, but will have to see what's going on next summer. It's only about 300 miles away for me, depending on where along the shore we would be based (NY or VT side).

I haven't done a trip like that since the last MMOR in Toronto, and they were all a lot of fun. 8)

Re: 26M trailering: hold rudders up and lock steering?

On the advice of our very nice PO we raise our engine, flip the support brace down and lower the engine to engage the support to relieve the strain on the hydraulics. This gives us an engine balanced over the transom and great ground clearance. We bag the prop and hang red streamer flags on it to k...

Re: Easy way to completely remove 26M mast?

How big is your garage? In my area they don't make garages deeper than 20 feet. But the diagonal is much larger, by the square root of 2 in fact (assuming 20 x 20). I hang mine from the ceiling of my 2-car on the diagonal. The mast for an :macx: is 28 ft, which means it would fit inside a 20 x 20 f...
