I use main with sail slugs and apply SailKote to sail slugs and mast groove (after washing it with cleaner) at the beginning of each season. This way I can easily raise main all the way up by hand all season long.
If you are using bolt rope consider replacing it with sail slugs.

Re: Dodger/gas tanks
Finally, I have been using Moeler 12 gallon plastic gas tanks and they are horrible, they expand in the heat and gas vapor leaks from the gasket of the fuel float and the fuel receiver, I get gas condensing and flowing into the cockpit and motor tray. I have the same tank but use venting tank fuel ...

Re: I have an electrical question.
The reason I didn't do a perko switch is because the charging profile of a lithium is different and can be dangerous if overcharged. The battery has interior circuity to prevent that but I like foolproof solutions. Also, I wasn't sure if this would confuse the alternator in the etec or fry the EMM....

Re: Rowing? Forget it.
I have 80 lb minn kota I use for walleye trolling and it works great. It pushes boat for hours around 2 mi/hour with less than half throttle in 1 foot chop and mild winds. At full throttle it moves boat at 4+ mi/hour. It is 24 V motor and I have two large batteries in series dedicated to it. I also ...

Re: EZ-cleats failing
I bought mine from Bill Beers in 2009 and according to Bill they are designed to bypass winches. Bill's look/made differently and I used them in bad weather many times with no problems. Buy new set from Bill.

Re: Genoa Furler Pin Failure - Mast came down.
I don't see how it can be useful except for jet ski. I never use safety lanyard. It is too short and inconvenient in general to be practical on 26' boat. How can you move around or do anything with safety lanyard attached to your wrist. Also I believe that wind/current moves boat faster that person...

Re: Genoa Furler Pin Failure - Mast came down.
I added an additional mast hound ABOVE the original. I ran a safety line down to the pulpit. It makes me sleep better. --Russ I have the same setup. I installed SS eye-bolt through the top of the mast and ran safety line to the pulpit. Make sure you use low-stretch line. Because if it rains regular...

Re: Genoa Furler Pin Failure - Mast came down.
Im glad to hear you are safe, but Im wondering about having the motor deactivator key on your wrist, if you go overboard how will anyone else on the boat turn it around to get you back especially if your under sail The idea is, you are supposed to attach a lanyard to that safety key with the other ...

It fits perfectly and looks great! Similar size sinks at Defender cost 5 - 6 times more! Will now look at Home Depot and Lowes

Bigger is NOT always better!
I installed Webasto FCF 12K AC/Heat last year and found it a little uncomfortable using at the beginning (and end) of season when temperatures are not extreme. Webasto tech support told me that the compressor will run for minimum of 6 minutes regardless of what temperature is doing. When it is mild ...

Re: RADAR UNIT !
I am also wondering what Boat asked. How small of an object can radar see floating in the water. Can it reliably see small logs or tire for example?
Even sailing it would be nice not have to be on constant lookout for something in the water ahead of boat.
