Re: Whitsundays Trip Report (somewhat late!)

G'day all especially the older (in membership) members haven't called in here for some time as our boat (Trust Me) has been sold for 4? years now but it's good to see the forum and especially the Aussie section still going and also the Whitsunday trips stills going also which we attended in 2006? I ...

Re: Anybody want an original 2006 braked axle

Hate to throw stuff away but the bits on this axle don't fit or are too much trouble to combine with aust gear so it is being cut up to take out the tip.

Re: Electrical question

Think ours were positive to earth as well, I do remember something odd but it was a long time ago and I just changed the whole fittings in the end anyway, you can buy fittings now almost as cheap as replacement globes.

Anybody want an original 2006 braked axle

Been tripping over this thing for years now so decided to toss it as it is not something most would want here but axle, brakes, hubs and bearings etc all there, just pinched the heavier than normal springs for the van. Will check back in a week or so if no one wants it it will go to the tip or recycl...

Re: Lithium Batteries anybody using them?

Good post Texlan Sort of backs up what I have been hearing over here but didn't pick up about the heat and cold, thought more would be using them for air cond etc as there were a few toying with them a while ago. Think it would have been a good option for our old boat as we basically lived on it 3-5...

Lithium Batteries anybody using them?

Probably been discussed but been away for a while and been some discussion elsewhere and thought they would be ideal for the Macs especially those who want lots of toys. We are still using VRLA in our new mode of transport and think they will outlast me but think prices are coming down and when comp...

Re: G'day been away doing other stuff.

Yeah miss the old girl and the many interesting discussions on here re mods etc, they are a great boat anybody thinking of selling should be very careful before taking the plunge, we had a great time and massive memories and photos travelling and exploring with a flexibility that absolutely no other...

G'day all been travelling a bit differently since we sold Trust me and while enjoying the new way missing the ease and flexibility of the Macgregor but the wife isn't. Re: not so sure i like my new ETEC- convince me otherwise...

Well we had some problems and issues with the etec but non relating to smoke/oil use/noise in those regards the etec is A1 but yes it is probably noisier than a four stroke as for the other two way better if you count the number of oil changes needed as compared to how much xd100 needed they are way...

Re: Propane Tank Aboard? Be careful...

Something that has been discussed at length on here with those who think it's ok to have it below deck and those like myself who wouldn't do it in a fit even on land, mind you even on deck and coupled with petrol it has huge potential for disaster especially on the water.

Re: Mac 26's Big Brother?

Don't think that boat even goes close to matching a Mac, the Mackman 28 (Aust) which was basically a copy of the :macx: was the only one I have seen but even it had disadvantages, although it does sail and motor better. http://www.ensignbrokers.com.au/ensign/yachts-for-sale/used/sail-monohulls/mach-...

Re: Still have your factory trailer? Take a good look at it!

You blokes must have a more toxic environment over there, our original trailer after 6 years showed no signs of rusting anywhere including the tongue section even though we had a brake fluid leak in there in the second year. In fact when I remodelled the whole thing putting a tandem and galvanising ...
