Re: 26m Aft Cabin Cushion Question

That looks like a nice option. Although I do like the "cut out" for the cooler idea. Andrew Dont use that area for your cooler Trust me Keep a heavy cooler on the floor Right beside the dinette in even with the keel I put the cooler in that aft berth cutout once, ...... ONCE! Never again. Massive i...

Re: 26M Vang Question

Hi AD Your mast will rotate. Keep the brass pin out, after removing from the bow from trailering. I used that pin to keep it locked out as I found no benefit to rotation and was problematic at best. However, if you want to, keep pin out and after tacking, pull back on main sheets between boom and tr...

Re: What will you miss most about your Mac when you size up to another boat?

I miss the trailer ability. Shallow draft. Steerable prop. Ability to go fast. Pull a tube or knee board. Low cost of everything related to its ownership or its use. Simplicity of its design and systems. But most of all, having a resource like this awesome Forum. I have not found anything like this ...

Re: Upgrade already?

Yeah, I was actually looking at a Beneteau 331 or a Hunter 33. The budget doesn't scare me as much as the rockin'! I do love the mac, especially for introducing me to sailing and good times in fair weather with the family. I have never been one for power boating, so the outboard advantage for me is...

Re: What size Spinnaker are you using? (26M)

I use the Asym that was sold with the boat.

Works great

Perfect config for the mac is main, jib, asym

When its lite, use the asym

I also used a main and genny, does not work nearly as well

Re: Great Lakes water level

Its really bad this year

Many marinas are closed and others have no power or water at the slips

This season will be rough on many

I'm lucky at my marina as everything floats and the office is well above water level

We've seen many this year that are under water

Re: Prop for a Yamaha F70 on a 26M?

On my Mercaha 75, as people call it, I've tried a
14x11
14x13
13.75x15

Heavily loaded, like for a trip, the 14x13 is best

The 14x11 was great for water skiing

The hole shot was very impressive, if you weren't sitting down, you soon would be 8)

Re: Spring is in the air - or radio

My season starts in May, but even then, the water is so cold, without a full enclosure..... the wind off the water is too cold to enjoy a nice sail.

Re: Is any one planning on attending the Chicago Boat/RV sho

Oh ya

To answer the next question....

Yes

I still have my Mac 26M

Have not decided whether to sell her or keep her for boating on other lakes as there are thousands of them in Ontario.

With my new keelboat, I wont be able to move around like I used to.
