Re: Mac 25 wooden mast holder & bracket help

Steve 4,
Do you have any pics of the current arrangement? I have a 1985 Mac 25 that has brackets but no mast crutch. I've been thinking about what I might use to make a replacement that would fit.

Rub rail replacement for 1985 Mac 25

I want to replace the damaged original rub rail on my 1985 Mac 25. That rail has an aluminum extrusion with a central insert. The extrusion is secured by about "a million" small nuts and bolts. Has anyone done a replacement on a Mac 25. If so, what brand of rub rail did you use and did you remove th...

1984 Mac steel trailer for Mac 25--Weight specs

I have an 84 Mac trailer. Does anyone have the specs off the original manufacturer sticker (GVRW, etc)? /The one on my rig is unreadable.

Thanks & Stay Safe!

JimmyT,
The following I find to be cons:
Poor fit & finish.
Poor seal.
Doesn't allow light in the vee-berth.

Re: Keel Restoration?

Hi, Steve4! I removed the keel from my 1985 Mac 25. I didn't have access to sandblasting but I took the keel down to bare iron with an angle grinder. (Note: whichever way you do this, it is a VERY messy job. Make certain that you wear appropriate protective gear.) I then coated it with POR-15 follow...

Removal and/or replacement of rub rail on 1985 Mac 25

Has anyone in Mac Land removed/replaced the rub rail on an 80's Mac 25? If so how did you do it? Will it take a few bottles of rum to get through the job? There are several pieces of the rubber/vinyl insert missing on my boat which has an aluminum channel with the noted insert. I believe TACO Marine...

Transporting engine while trailering a Mac 25

How best to carry a Suzuki 4-cycle 9.9 HP engine while trailering? Engine weight is about 110 lb. A PO had reinforced the exterior area under the engine mount with 1/2 in Starboard. Considering my age (70's) and engine weight I'd prefer to leave the engine on the mount during trailering. Your though...

Pins near windows on 1985 Mac24

Anyone out there know what the "pins" forward and aft of the Mac 25 windows might be for? Are they for some sort of mounting such as for curtains? Original or PO add-ons?

Thanks. Stay safe.

Foredeck hatch replacement in '85 Mac 25- another try for info

Hi, y'all! About a year ago I posted a question about replacement of a Mac25 foredeck hatch but had no replies. I have the same question. Has anyone done a hatch replacement? If so what type/brand was used? I'd like to improve the OEM hatch which I find to be less than useful. Thanks. Stay safe and ...

Re: Re-Posting Mac 25 CAD Drawings with Mods

Hi, TEXASPARKTHEBOAT (now that is a long handle!) I looked over the CAD drawings you posted for a Mac 25. I have a 1985 Mac 25 and based on some of the elements in the drawing, I think that the post-Venture 25 Macs were somewhat different in design. Perhaps there are folks out there who can comment ...

composting head

Hi, y'all! Anyone out there in Mac land have experience with composting heads aboard a Mac? Specifically, a Mac 25. Mine is a 1985. I've looked at the 3 major brands but I think that C-Head is the only one that makes a model which will fit into the Mac 25's designated head space. I built a cardboard...

Where do you carry your outboard when trailering?

I have a 1985 Mac 25 which came with a Suzuki 4-stroke 9.9 hp engine. The engine weighs about 120 lbs. When the P.O. delivered the boat, the kicker was horizontal on the cockpit floor (correct side up by the way). I've yet to trailer the boat as I'm in the middle of a protracted refurb. MY QUESTION:...
