Re: Farewell / a fine boat looking for a new family

Hi Alexis! I’ll take your word for the regular sea conditions in the coastal region you will be at. Too bad that I’m a linguistic Luddite and can’t read French. I bet the article is interesting about an interesting vessel! :D :D Not sure if ever want to be sailing in conditions that would require t...

France is surrounded by 3 seas and an ocean, so there are lots of places for real sailing. A sailboat on a canal is a sad sailboat. :(

Have you place an advertisement in our classifieds section, it's free?

Re: Farewell / a fine boat looking for a new family

Am wishing you fair winds & full sails Alexis! Opportunity is just that: Grab & Reach for The Brass Ring! While I haven’t been here and interacted with you before, Ray has! That says it All for me! Lol. Your boat should sell quickly, which may be a Blessing or a Curse, so: Think before you ...

Re: Farewell / a fine boat looking for a new family

Congratulations, Alexis. Hope you're still able to get out on the water, even if it's not on your boat. Thanks! The destination is France... it is where I am from, so I won’t complain! I will keep on sailing for sure, though I may not find a mac as these boats are less common over there and maybe n...

Farewell / a fine boat looking for a new family

Hello, After a few years sailing in Saskatchewan on the lake Diefenbaker, my company is proposing me a position abroad. I am thrilled by this new experience, but I will have to make a really tough decision if I want this to happen: I will have to leave my boat behind! Nothing lasts forever of course...

Re: Stock furler eye to change

Hello Tom, C Buchs: yes, I purchased the stainless insert one from BWY.

Thank you for the answers! I think I prefer having it screwed to the deck as is seems much easier to change than having to cut an opening in the liner inside the boat...

Stock furler eye to change

Hi! I haven't shared on this site in a long time. For those who are wondering: all is well here, thank you! I noticed last season that the furler could be difficult to operate at times and that my brand new furling line started to prematurely look shabby ... I inspected the furling line eye on the b...

Thank you all for the good ideas! You are making me think a lot and as usual I need to "digest" before I can answer to each comment... A question though... How do you guys set a 150 genoa or a "code zero", do you run the sheets inside our outside the stays? Actually I am pretty ...

Re: Code zero sail

I just received a nice explanation from Masthead Enterprises regarding Code Zero sails: "If you have 5 spinnakers on your boat, then a Code Zero should be one of them." I understand now that I don't need a Code Zero which is a too specialized sail. What I need is a versatile gennaker. To t...
