Re: Best way to shorten CDI furler?

http://i65.tinypic.com/2niz8l4.jpg Not sure if you got this all sorted but I have been dealing with a similar issue. I bought a boat with a fore-stay curiously 8 inches to short. It was rigged with a halyard at the top that previous owner used as his solution. I bought a Johnson Lever and it fit pe...

Re: New to the forum the 26M and boating.

Awesome Day at the Boat! Tried the JQRL (Johnson Quick Release Lever) I think its' awesome! I hope! Pulled mast tight forward with MRS. Seems perfect or at least the best we have been able to do so far. But! Stopped at the Maitland Valley Marina got a slip for next summer and can use it now if we ge...

Re: New to the forum the 26M and boating.

You are correct. There is no swivel on my forestay. The Furler foil spins around the forestay, so the stay does not need to rotate. I would rig a temporary line to act as a forestay, or use the mast raising system if you have one. Get the mast rake set where you want it, and then adjust your forest...

Re: New to the forum the 26M and boating.

Making progress just in time to put her away for the winter. You can see in the following picture my stay is about 8 inches short. However I now understand how the furler works and it is a simple elegant device. The turn buckle is cranked right down so there is some room to expand. However I now hav...

Re: New to the forum the 26M and boating.

BTW, when I drop my mast, the ONLY thing in the standing rigging I remove is the headstay that is attached to the bow roller. Then the whole business drops down. Lately I also remove the spreaders at the mast so I don't have to dance the rig under the lifelines. You will figure this out. It's a fai...

Re: New to the forum the 26M and boating.

Welcome to the group. If I understand you, the answer is no. It is not normal to have a halyard involved in your forestay. Do you have a manual for the boat? If not, I think you can download it from this forum. If you can't sort it out, we can get you through it. My Genoa Furler is attached to a ma...

Re: New to the forum the 26M and boating.

Something isn't right here. It's possible the PO had the halyard hooked to the forestay for mast-down transport. Nope we rigged it with him in his driveway before we handed him the check and drove off.................funny eh! Thanks for your post good info! Think I'll need to buy a swivel to go be...

Re: New to the forum the 26M and boating.

We do have a mast raising system works great for this team wife cranks I make sure no lines foul as she brings up mast. We have a CDI furler. Lots to learn! Thanks folks appreciate the pictures as well! I do have the PDF manual from Mac but the manual didn't cover the furler install. Again thanks fo...
