I've had a 50 hp Honda on my boat and switched to a 30 hp Yamaha when it was stolen. Personally the 30 hp is ok, but with family the 50 hp was much better. The minimum allowed size for a hitch ball in Europe is 49 mm. However it seems they are 50mm when new and in reality are more in the range of 49.5 mm. Hi Neo,

the drive doesn't have any mechanical end-stops, so you should be fine. I think the main reason to align the key slots would be to have the steering wheel straight.

But how did you change the alignment, that should be mechanically fix unless you open the drive unit ?

Well done... were you able to find a replacement spring from somewhere? I am working on it. Not sure is the spring is causing the issue or some other parts of the mechanism. In addition I have some other problems with the connection to the drive. It is either the cable or something on the electroni...
