@ Heath, I don't believe the O.P. is saying under destinations, but below destinations. If you are not logged in you see several more headings but once logged in we no longer have the required permission to view special interest forums.

Sounds like the PO took the 4 inches out of the middle? Is that correct?

My main has 3 and they are approx. At 25, 50 and 75% of the luff. But I'm no sailmaker and can barely call myself a sailor :)

Re: BWY Disc Brake Kit

Nice upgrade, I guess it all depends on how many miles you intend to travel and price difference from stock replacement parts. You will also have to rewire tow vehicle and trailer to pick up the reverse light power feed to the backup solenoid if you can't pin the hitch brake cylinder, I also see the...

Re: New Outboard Recommendations

Guess that should be a criteria as well.

In no particular order

Power x Weight x Price x Service x and of course Color!

Some manufactures have classes of engines different HP but very little or no difference in weight. Always a difference in price! :|

Using the main sheet as safety while raising mast

Being new to MacGregor's and Mast raising in general and not a trusting person, thought to use my main sheet down to the port side winch mainsheet is attached between the port cleat and the forestay. As a side benifit it kept the furiler from dragging on the deck as much and saved a couple trips for...

Re: Fishing for Suggestions

Create a mini Arch and clamp it to the upright posts of the pulpit you could prototype it out of 3/4 or 1 inch electrical conduit easy enough to bend. The galvanized electrical conduit could also be painted after wiping down with white vinegar. That's would make an awesome granny bar to do the Titan...

Re: Rub rail restorer?

I have used Turtle Wax Jet Black on my truck and works well, lasts a couple years. CAREFUL application is required as it is a dye I believe. https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Wax-T-128KT-Premium-Coating/dp/B00IOBSZJK/ref=asc_df_B00IOBSZJK/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=242012437367&hvpos=1o10&hvnetw...

Re: any mods / suggestions for reducing heel in a 26x?

As I'm a noob, I'll answer with a question. I agree with reefing early and often, and I have proven to myself and others that it can increase speed (even though they still thought healing was more fun) but what about easing the vang this would allow the boom to raise and the main to spill more air?

Re: attaching a skeg?

West System Instructions are good, and customer service is better than good. https://www.westsystem.com/instruction-2/ I'm sceptical about how much a skeg will help with low speed maneuvering, there just isn't enough water flow at low speeds to stabilize the boat at docking and loading speeds. Bette...

Re: What will you miss most about your Mac when you size up to another boat?

Well since I've only had my 26x for one season and only had it in the water for half of that it might be a bit early to start having regrets :D . My plan is to take the next few years and learn to sail using the MacGregor then move up to either a southerly or endeavor in the sub 40-foot range to sai...

I did a quick search and did not turn up any results does anyone know If it is feasible or has done a roller bunk trailer for the Mac 26X, it would certainly stop the Mac bump problem.
