Re: Hull Beautification
After 3 years of only washing and spray waxing my boat. This year I did not want to live with a shining oxizides boat. I bought Meguiar's diamond cut 2.0,Meguiar's 2.0 high gloss wax, and borrowed a professional high powered buffer. The diamond cut after a few generous applications got rid of the ox...

Have you compared the Evinrude e-tec 60 to the mercury bigfoot 60? E-tec's 3yrs no maintence , and less weight.

Re: Minor repair. Was it from dealer or factory
Who would buy a NEW CAR with a scratch mark so obvious it becomes the 1st thing anyone see. Bayliner, Hunter, Cris Craft, Catalina, and most quality boat manufactuers have hull and blister guarrenties If Rodger can not back the craftsmanship of his product then be honest and state this boat does not...

Re: slimy painted bottom
I will begin sanding this weekend. I going to preety mush live with the pimples that formed on my hull. I figured that I will sand it just enough to burst the pimples. Let tthe boat sit in the marina barn for a week, and apply the first coat easyepoxy, let that dry until tacky, and apply the antifou...

Re: Blisters!
I got them too. I spent this weekend cleaning, tightening, and while srubing the bottom I found several small pimple like blisters. The body guy at the marina says I have to repair this before I put the boat in the water. This will destroy the boat's value if the hull's fiberglass woven takes on wat...

Re: Best outboard motor if you were to repower
There is a thread on this site, "Honda Pee", that was good reading for all my 4 stroke outboard dedicated sailors. My 1st boat was a Bayliner 1850 fish n ski with a 4.3 litre vortec I/O alpha drive. it was loud, but fast. I had to work on the motor every season before I could get out and e...

Re: Honda 50 EFI vs. Tohatsu 50 TLDI
I nearly forgot what it was that I wanted to say about the 4 stroke outboards. These engines were man's 1st attempt at resolving an issue with poluting our air, and water. The NEW and improve method of accomplishing this is the fuel injection technology incorperated by two stroke outboards. Due to t...

Re: Honda 50 EFI vs. Tohatsu 50 TLDI
The water pressure coming from the pee hole was degraded to a trickle. I visually checked what I thought was all water inlets and outlets. I am just a shad tree machanic. I preying that this will resolve my water pressure from the pee hole/ overheat alarm activation problem...

Re: Honda 50 EFI vs. Tohatsu 50 TLDI
I do remember reading a post on this site about cooling problems some were expereincing with the Honda 50 pee hole. I will do a search to se if I can find that post. I have an Tohatsu 50 D. It has carbs. I've ran this motor at 4200 rpm for hours yeilding a speed of about 17mph. I am mostly a power b...

Re: A New 33' Quasi Mac?
I would love to own a Mac powersailer with a little more space beam and length wise. This boat when motored will travel at speed of 22+ mph. I would like see a Mac powersailer that is 30 ft in length with a beam of 8ft 6inches. I would not find myself trailing this boat much. I rent a slip each year...

Finding the right dealer makes a big difference
I bought my 2006 26M from Illinois Central Sailboats. Please pay attention to the fact that he has no mailing address, just a post office box. His telephone is a cell phone. He assured me he would give me a better deal than the Wisconson dealership, Boats 4 sail or the Indiana dealership, Superior M...
