Matt: I've just built one to your spec and she works like a hot dam. I purchased 2 Stamasters for my lower shrouds but I used it for the uppers. No complaints at all. With tax, the grips were 18 bucks and the bolts were out of my tool box. I used lock nuts on the ends after insertion to prevent the ...

Leon: Just finishing off my winter mod's and was contemplating the same reefing issues on my wee boot. I rigged my outhaul inside the boom and I have a similar single line reefing system. I thought that adding single blocks to the reef points and relocating my cheek blook closer to the outhaul, thru...

Leon: I may be just a dumb engineer, but I think the warning about adequate ventilation should be considered. When you charge a lead-sulphate battery the gases generated are not just H2 but can be gaseous forms of acids like H2SO4 ( I sound like a chemistry teacher) which are heavier than air. IMHO,...

I get it, that makes sense, Paul.

Ok, that makes sense give you do swing thru 2x the radius of the anchor rode given a 180 deg swing in wind or current. I get ya now.

Big D:Thought of that but with Mike C's outhaul, too cramped

Leon: I am about to copy you're lay out and will handle the sagging lines over possible jams in the boom. I am looking at that issue too but I copied Mike C's outhaul and so I'm limited on anything in the boom. Is it really that messing when the sail is flaked, there must be some simple way to organ...

Paul, I'm confused, I just set my GPS to Anchor drift mode!!

Paul: You've got a GPS right?? I just set my Garmin to Anchor drag mode and it's gone off once all last year. Are you interested in something more sensitive?? When I stumbled on deck after the alarm, I found I had moved a grand total of 15 feet. I just set the sensitivity to a reasonable number. Wou...

Bob, rear mounted winches were inspired by Mike Cantwell.

Bob: When I pull the tarp off after this bout of white stuff, I'll do some photos and include that in the Mod sections. Mike Cantwell helped me with my outhaul mod and while we were chatting he showed me his mounting for the winches. Sooo, I can't really take credit. I did make a slightly different ...
