Re: Replacement Trailer Axle for 2008 MacM

I gave my serial number of my axle to UFP (Dexter) and they made an exact duplicate when I went to dual axles. I went thru a local dealer, Serial number is stamped on a plate on the tube.

Re: Flag halyards and lowering mast. Messy?

I installed a small pulley about midway along the spreader and use a shroud cleat for club pendant and courtesy flag. Never had it hang up https://www.westmarine.com/buy/west-marine--shroud-cleats--P002_064_005_503 Flag on backstay is held with these. Easy to put on and take off http://www.attwoodma...

As your likely aware, unless the cartridge has been fired, all you need to do is replace the bobbin when it expires. Here's some found on a search http://www.marineoutfitters.ca/index.cfm?category=10014%7C10079%7C10080&product=42240120&code=062533093010 http://www.defender.com/product.jsp?path=-1%7C...

Re: Water Leaking from Ballast to Bilge

We had a leak from our ballast tank. Water was collecting in starboard area under seat and head area but the leak was on the other side near batteries.

Re: Windvane - while Trailering

We remove it. I drilled a hole at an angle in a convenient spot of the galley woodwork (not original) that it rests in while travelling so it doesn't get damaged. I've only forgot to put it back on maybe a dozen or so times... :P

Bad idea from a safety standpoint. You shouldn't be able to disengage from the remote. This prevents accidental disengagement and ensures you're at the helm when its disengaged.
