Bad idea from a safety standpoint. You shouldn't be able to disengage from the remote. This prevents accidental disengagement and ensures you're at the helm when its disengaged.

Re: Honda BF50 making oil

is it otherwise running fine? My Yamaha was doing the same thing and after much troubleshooting I found an incorrect gasket in one of the carbs that was causing it to run rich and flood. Oil smelled like gas

Re: looking for a dinghy --ideas

The low price, real dinghy I have been able to find is this guy. http://www.adventurewarehouse.ca/boat-a ... uffle.html I have the same one but branded different. I think they all come from the same chinese manufacturer. Over all I'm happy with it. Tracking and towing are not an issue. I broke one ...

Re: Raymarine Wheel Autopilot help needed, please

This is on an :macx:. I made a pin from a SS bolt. A nut on either side of the pedestal wall secures it. I cut the head off the bolt and bent it to align with the slot in the donut. There is a fair bit of side to side torque that I think is better for the pin to take rather than the motor. http://i1...

Re: Raymarine Wheel Autopilot help needed, please

I'm not sure what you are referring to. Are you talking about what hold's the drive motor in place, or the pin that locks the donut from turning?

You can find the installation instructions for the EV100 here http://www.raymarine.com/view/?id=6866

Re: Marine Boat Storage Victoria BC

I have driven to the coast from Calgary numerous times with the Mac and more times than I can count to the Shuswap. The biggest climb between Calgary and the Okanogan is Rodgers Pass. Coming back from the coast you've got the Coquihalla. The hill known as the smasher will test any vehicle. Of course...

Re: Ballast Water Leaking into Bilge

This is the only shot I have of the repair, which they said was really quite straight forward once they found it. I don't believe it was a manufacturing defect. We hit a couple of poorly marked pavement transitions that slammed us pretty good. I'm pretty sure that's what did it. We are on an M alumi...

Re: Ballast Water Leaking into Bilge

The crack was right by the galley/battery box area but the water was going under the floor and pooling on the starboard side. There are fibreglass reinforcement channels formed over foam that made finding it very difficult. http://i1369.photobucket.com/albums/ag225/alanfisher/IMG_3149_zpskelgrmsg.jpg

Re: Ballast Water Leaking into Bilge

We developed a leak from our ballast after trailering to the coast and hitting some rough bridge repair work. Bugger of a place to get to. About 4 boat bucks to get it fixed. Re: Marine Boat Storage Victoria BC

John, the MYCBC is planning a trip to Victoria for July 1 Canada day. Canada's 150th. We will be in the inner harbour. 20 Macs so far have signed up. You (and anyone else) should consider joining the festivities, its going to be a great time. http://www.MYCBC.ca http://www.gvha.ca/marinas-facilities...
