Re: Exploring South Puget Sound

Thanks for sharing your stories. We bought out 26X from the Gig Harbor area. So beautiful. I hope someday to spend some time in the area on the Mac

Re: Raymarine EV-100 p70 Wheel Pilot Pack, yay or nay?

Very happy with mine. The installation is not too difficult if you plan things out ahead. The connections only need adapting if you're tying into some other type of backbone. Otherwise it all works on its own. I needed to buy 1 longer cable.

You should check out the MacGregor Yacht club of BC. mycbc.ca There are members around your area and it's a great group to learn with.

2009 aluminum would be an :macm: trailer. I modded one for my :macx:

I went with 4 longitudinal bunks and it works great.

Re: backstay location

Mine just touches so no hole required. I did have a vinyl wear strip added to the cover as it tends to wear at that spot

Re: Ever launch from a lake shore?

It really depends on the conditions of the shore and the angle of the lake bed. I've done it at low water right beside the launch ramp because of the big hole at the end of the ramp from everyone 'power loading' onto their trailers. Only you can evaluate that. You don't want to be this guy. https://...

Re: What holds up the boom?

Is there any way I can add a topping lift without lowering or climbing the mast? Could I attach a clip and line from the end of the boom to the backstay when I lower the mainsail or would this put too much weight on the backstay? My :macx: 'topping lift' is simply a length of 1/8" cable about 2' th...

Re: quick fix for mounting a dinghy motor

Do you have a boarding ladder? I mount my 2 hp on a board that is u-bolted to the ladder tubes. I'll try to find a pic. It wouldn't work for anything much heavier.
