Trailer for 26X in Barcelona (Spain)

¡Greetings!

A :macx: owner in Barcelona needs a trailer to tow his boat to a yard and do a little work in it.

Anybody near Barcelona can lend him or hire him a trailer for a day or two?

Thank you!

Re: Don't take it personally

I once read in the net something like: "maybe the worst part of owning a MacGregor is the time you have to spend defending it from those who consider it a spawn of hull without ever having set their feet on one". As I seem to have some Kamikaze genes in my DNA, I registered in Sailing Anarchy just t...

Re: torqeedo /solar

I have a dinghy (a Sevylor Fish Hubter 280) with a 150 watt, 12-volt sevylor electric engine. The boat is very light (less than 30 kilograms), and I have never managed more than 3 knots (me and the boat toghether weight about 120 kilograms). The Mac alone weights more than 1000 kilograms (wiht the b...

I am following Tatto Yachts in Facebook. A few days ago, they posted a picture of the first finished Tattoo 22.

Re: How do you guys tie up your rudders while underway...

Standard yacht braid, secured with a standard cleat hitch. Mine are tied as a single loop, so as you pull them up, the other end shortens. I wrap the extra line around the cleat (after the cleat hitch) just to use up some extra line, which makes it even harder for it to slip. But a cleat hitch is v...

Re: torqeedo /solar

You could also try flexible solar panels all around the deck and the hatch lid... But, anyway, I think the weight of the batteries for a reasonable cruising range would be excessive... In Spain, several years ago, a boatbuilder built a custom solar motir yacht for a wealthy and environmentally conce...

Re: thinking about repowering before crossing to bahamas

A car with about 5,000 miles on the odometer would probably have about the same 150 hours of total usage that your E-Tec has. Essentially that's brand new. IMHO it's better to spend the boat bucks on accessories and insurance for the trip. Why not buy a good dinghy with a reasonably light kicker mo...

Re: Looking to join the Mac-club! Advice on 26x Sail Improve

Freeboard, freeboard, freeboard.... These boats have way more than you are probably used to. It will be evident when you try to dock at low speeds in high winds. There are many comments that you have to maintain a certain amount of speed with "fins" down to have a reasonable amount of control. It c...

Re: Is it Legal to Tow a Mac in the EU?

As far as I know, as long as you have the correct permit (I think it is called a B-92 license attached to your driving license) and your car is allowed to tow the total weight of the boat + the trailer (somewhere in the car's documents says the maximum weight the car is allowed to tow), you should b...

Re: Imexus or Tes as big brothers to Mac?

I think TES yachts are made in Poland, too.

There was another "Big Brother" of the Mac, the Circa 29, made in Spain (near Barcelona). I tested one in 2000, and I liked it a lot... sadly, the builder folded up in 2013.

Re: Thoughts on this Mac?

From what I can tell from here, it looks pretty complete as a basic Mac X goes. 50 hp won't go 20 mph (I can't do better than 16), but it's still fast enough to pull a wakeboard with an adult. Engine condition is always a question mark. No idea what condition the sails are in, and I would assume th...
