stowing the rigging for travel

I m getting ready to pick up my "new to me" 2000 model 26x. The previous owners son de-rigged the boat and simply folded the mast down with the spreaders resting on the lifelines. The side stays are wadded up, dangling over the side of the boat on each side, fore and aft stays the same hanging off t...

Official Newbie

A week or so ago I posted a checklist forum and got some great response. I had found the boat on Craigslist (nationwide search). When I got there it was obvious the boat had been misrepresented and the pictures used in the add were not even the same boat. Long story, to say that I was "hot under the...

It is equipped with 50 Honda, 3 sails (main, std. jib, 150 genoa, roller furling), full cockpit enclosure, single axle trailer w/surge brakes, dock lines, fenders & safety equip., ect: I am new to sailing and have been shopp...

Re: A Mac M in Stuart Fl

What you probably saw near Stuart was the new Tattoo 26 (Looks like the M) .

It is now being built there.

normal cruise spd under power (15HP)

No water skiing here (LOL)! I am looking at a 2000 model nicely equipped X with 15HP, 4-stroke. I originally thought I might want a 50-60 HP, but I am not a go-fast guy on the water. I once owned a 29 Topaz Sport-fisher with twin chevy's that would fly. I paid for that at the pump. I can see a bigge...

Re: Speedy Rigger Instructional Videos for MacGregor Yachts

Jeff sent me an e-mail at midnite central time last night. He claims he only received my Friday e-mail yesterday, which I find highly unusual. I have heard and seen them get lost, but never retrieved 4 days later. Once lost , lost forever is the norm. He also claimed he never received my order from ...

Re: Speedy Rigger Instructional Videos for MacGregor Yachts

I ordered both video's on 7-22 and paid for them w/PayPal. After I did not receive them by 8-2-13, I sent a e-mail on 8-3.

I have not received the video's as yet and no response to my e-mail.

Is this guy sill in business?

Re: 26x power

A few of you with 15 HP power responded and I am kind of leaning that way. Question: What kind of cruise speed and fuel burn to you get at your most efficient power settings in no wind conditions? While we get a lot of decent sailing weather around here, we also get a lot of hot no wind days when a ...

26x power

I have been looking at several 26x's in the past few weeks with the ideal being a 50HP Honda on a 2000 or newer 26x. Lately I have seen several boats using 15-20HP motors and was wondering how they might perform as to speed w/water ballast chamber full. Fast enough to empty the ballast tank if fill ...
