Re: Attaching wires to fuse panel bus bar

Ok, Thank you. I have an old fuse panel replacement, so would it benefit me to upgrade it or just move forward with it? I was planning on setting up / installing shore power at some point this summer. I also plan on in the immediate period installing a charger and from my take away a combiner since ...

Re: I'm back....new to me

I store my boat on a pad beside the house. I live in an hoa with fairly restrictive requirements, one being no car ports. My neighbors have trees that overhang the pad and drop sap and leaves that stain the hull. I'm not in the market for a full cover at this time, but has anybody built a full boat...

Re: I'm back....new to me

I am not sure on how well my experience with my :macx: compares to the 26D but I had water leaking in through where the rubber boot for the rudder linkage enters the boat in the rear starboard side that lead to the exact same problem. I know bwy does not have the boot anymore so I am unsure how I am...

Oxidation removal

So my 2000 :macx: has to my best knowledge sat for a minimum of 5 years unattended. I finally got the the interior cleaned out for the most part now I need to turn to the outside. I was rinsing her off and I realized truly how chalky and oxidized she is. I have searched to forums here and other gene...

Re: Battery Question

.... Also I figured if i connected 2, 200 AH batteries in parallel would be 400 AH. Curious, which batteries are you considering? Sumner http://i1044.photobucket.com/albums/b444/macowneril15/IMG_0281_zpsns5jbup4.jpg I was looking at the DC-130, The issue I was unsure of was the fact that my outboar...

Re: Battery Question

That's what I have, macowner. But yes, you will really want to add shore power if possible. I also added a Magnum Energy 2800W inverter/charger and carry a Honda 2000i genny. But then again, I stay out for extended periods. YMMV... Do you have any pictures of your shore power set up and did you do ...

Re: Battery Question

I was planning on a quality charger but was going to wait on a shore power system. So I think I will use 2 batteries and have a total around 400 amp hours. I really appreciate everyone's help.

Re: Battery Question

Thank you everyone for all the feedback you guys are really life savers. I think the shore power project will be put off since I exhausted most of my "boat money" on getting her up to par. One final question what type of battery do you guess use AGM, flooded, or Gel
