Does anybody knows what is the diameter of the original hose used on Macgregors?

Leak at the bow, looking for a picture...

Hello, I have a leak at the narrow end of the bow berth. The water is dripping from the very "beginning" of the hull at the bow. The water is being collected like in a funnel in the anchor locker, then there must be a connection issue on a pipe between the locker and the starboard side though-hull o...

Re: new power sailer design and build- early results

Everything comes back to the "equation" of characteristics... I noticed that your design is 33 feet LOA? It means that the boat on the trailer will be at least 40 feet long, which doesn't fit on my driveway. In my city I can park a long RV in the street, but not a boat which needs to be parked on a ...

Re: new power sailer design and build- early results

@sailboatmike: thanks for your answers and comments! I was thinking about the actual location of storage on Macgregors, and I am wondering if having them all in the lower parts of the cabin was a compromise (another compromise on that boat ! :) ) which tends to lower costs, brings weight closer to t...

Re: new power sailer design and build- early results

Great thread, great project! I am definitely hooked to your idea and anxious to read about your progress! Here are my 2 cents opinions about our sailboats, if it helps: - More beam is necessary at least to create a walkable deck section each side of the cabin house. It doesn't need to be very wide b...

Re: Sharing my first sailing experience

So, I unfortunately didn't have a lot of wind this weekend. I mean 5 Kmh at most... It was definitely not enough wind to sail with the genoa only but I tested full sails with the outboard up and it seemed to do a difference. I am not sure if it was a placebo effect, but we could catch a breeze when ...

Re: 26x Boom during a bridge crossing.

Sounds like an unnecessary step, but I am guessing It would need to be secured somehow ... So maybe removing it would just be as complicated (or simple depending your point of view).

Or you can do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_7Yg4b6TSk

Re: Sharing my first sailing experience

@Ixneigh I certainly over pulled the main, so I will try loosening it a bit. Actually, I think I also have a tendency to overestimate the importance of the main and will test to sail with the genoa only. Some sailors put the genoa first, but I always hoist the main first. @sailboatmike thanks for al...

Sharing my first sailing experience

Ahoy! A new Mac 26X sailor here! We purchase the boat for the family at the end of last summer and really started to enjoy it this year. We sail on lakes in Saskatchewan. I had some experience of coastal cruising when I was living in France, and I am used to sail fin keel sailboats from 20 to 35 fee...
