Re: Picture of your boat...

These two :macx: we're done when I first started painting. Jim's boat is on top, Jose's boat is below. Close. TF – Tropical Fresh Water F – Fresh Water T – Tropical Seawater S – Summer Temperate Seawater W – Winter Temperate Seawater WNA – Winter North Atlantic There are Load Line Marks on both sides of the hull for the above. Each have different densities so the boat will sit higher/lower depending ...

Re: 40 hp Merc

I have a 40-HP Mercury 2-Stroke. I think it is a great engine.

No ballast and no wind I can get 15 knots with just me. 14 knots with two folks. Not sure about if it is "on a plane"...don't think so...don't really care.

Somewhere between 3 and 4 gallons per hour at full throttle.

Cheers,
Jim

Re: Brakes not dis-engaging -- VERY hot!!!

I think I might have a bad connector because my trailer brakes frequently lock up on the gravel lot of my marina when backing. But most of the time I don't even use the round connector as I am only going from the ramp to my parking spot. I just stick the pin in to lock out the brakes. Just one more ...

Re: Brakes not dis-engaging -- VERY hot!!!

Maybe... But MS Gulf Coast will probably get pretty big winds/storm-surge being in NE quadrant. OPERATION POLARIS is in effect. My friend has the boat in Biloxi (about 12 miles east from GPT) right now waiting on some additional helpers. Then they will finish motoring into the Biloxi Back Bay and ti...

Re: Tropical storm Isaac

I have my "helpers" removing the genoa from my Catalina in Gulfport, MS. And supposedly tomorrow afternoon sometime he is going to motor it around into the Back Bay to the "Hidey Hole" where this boat rode out Katrina back in 2005.

Re: Tropical storm Isaac

Might be a good idea to removed the foresail. Lots of windage. My "new boat" (Catalina 310) is in a slip in Gulfport, MS. I have a friend (previous owner's son) and we are debating moving the boat to the back bay to the "Hidey Hole" they used during Katrina back in 2005. Or just doubling up the line...

Re: Brakes not dis-engaging -- VERY hot!!!

Oh, I am keeping a close eye on it. I have a couple of "contingency" plans. But it looks like it is going to veer far enough to the East that Gulfport, MS will be spared any big winds. Got a friend who is going to go double up on my dock lines and lash down the furler and secure a few items. There a...
