Rub Rail Repair

Ron, I just called MacGregor. They only sell the entire rub rail...all 50 feet is $50 plus shipping ($12 to Georgia where I live). I explained my damage and the guy in the parts department said I would probably be better served by buying the a Bondo product for repairing "bumpers". He said it was a ...

Daniel, I will gladly take some photos and post. Unfortunately I won't see my boat (yet to be named) until the weekend after Turkey Day. I live in Valdosta GA but the boat is stored in Jacksonville (at the NAS Jax Marina). Like I said earlier it sure looks like there is no stress. That was what I wa...

How do you guys secure your mast to the mast holder after you have secured the base of the mast to the bow?

Thanks,
Jim

Rick,

Tried that both times and nothing happened. How fast is "SLOWLY and CAREFULLY"?

I was thinking maybe a chain or something from the winch point on the front of the boat wrapped around the front trailer post or something like that. No slippage as it comes out of the water.

Thanks,
Jim

Another trailering question

Please grant the new guy one more question...okay there will probably be several more eventually. Have trailered my Mac twice now...once at Tarpon Springs when I got it yesterday and once this afternoon after my first sail with it. Both times the boat was motored onto the trailer (once by previous o...

All, Read all these replies and even though I thought I would remove the boom here is my situation. Just got the boat yesterday. The owner has several mods to include lazy jacks, jiffy reef, and has the all the lines led back to the cockpit through fairleads and blocks. When he showed us how to step...

Rub Rail Repair

Hi All, I am officially now a Mac owner. If anyone saw the very dirty, white :macm: traveling East on I-4 from Tampa to Daytona and then North on I-95 up to Jacksonville on Saturday...that was me. It was a little embarassing because the boat was pretty dirty (lots of spiders and other bugs get all o...

Securing 26M to trailer

I guess I need straps or something to secure the boat to the trailer. How many and how long?

Recommendations?

Thanks again. You guys are a great help.

All, I am going to pick-up my 2005 :macm: this Saturday. It does not have a porta-potty. While looking at options at West Marine I noticed the PETT Portable Head Portable Head This system uses PETT waste bags Waste Bags Have searched the archives and could only find one reference to it. All,

Thanks for the info. I will remove the boom when trailering. Heck, for me rigging and derigging the boat seems like part of the fun...

for now... :)

Trailering with boom connected to mast?

Hi All, New MAC owner (actually won't own it...2005 26M...for 6 more days). Been dreaming about MACs for about 2 months (lots of online research) and been lurking this discussion board for about a month or so. The soon to be ex-owner of this MAC told me he has trailered the boat with the boom still ...
