Re: is this forum for "trailers & towing" only or can we talk about tow vehicles?

As for the Mac being towed by a Ford Taurus in a MacGregor advertising pitch, yes, that was true. The demonstration, however, was not really legit, since the towing capacity of a 1995 Ford Taurus was only 2,000 lbs and the Mac and trailer weighs in at a bare minimum of 3,400 lbs. That being said, Ro...

Re: is this forum for "trailers & towing" only or can we talk about tow vehicles?

I love listening to other owners' opinions of their vehicles, and of others. Ditto. Besides, Ray, you know I’m also a ‘car guy’ so discussion about the virtues of different tow beasts is very much up my alley. Particularly as I’m about to embark on the purchase of a new one. As for Catigale, I don’...

Re: is this forum for "trailers & towing" only or can we talk about tow vehicles?

One thing I noticed during travel between Victoria and Nanaimo on Vancouver Island is that everyone drove American cars. To me it seemed that Canadians drove American cars more than Americans do - I saw fewer Japanese cars in Canada than I see in the US. And a LOT of the cars I saw in Canada were C...

Re: Old MacGregor26.com website

Sounds pretty useful! I don't think that the folks at MacGregor would be against such a thing. His daughter, the inheritor of the Mac and Tattoo legacy, has given me permission to use the logo, so I would imagine that offering the old website content would not be an issue.

Re: is this forum for "trailers & towing" only or can we talk about tow vehicles?

I have a 2004 Toyota Sienna that we’ve used for towing our boats, and it now has 230,000 miles in it. The car has been largely bulletproof. The only problem is that the trans has gone twice (basically every 100,000 miles) but then I’ve been hauling things that have put the car right at the margins o...

HOWEVER....

None of this currently works on an iPhone (and I suspect not on any phone browser). Use a personal computer or laptop for now. I’m sure Russ is working on the issue.

Re: Where is everyone?

Welcome back! Glad to see so many folks returning, and to see the resurgence of activity and friendship on the board. This is without question the friendliest sailing board on the ‘net, and you all contribute to that. I’m glad that I could play a part in ensuring the board’s longevity, and I thank R...

Re: Hatch slide, velcro

The beauty of this forum is that you can easily search through over 11 years of past topics and terms. Can’t really do that easily in Facebook. For example, I searched for “hatch slide velcro” and hit this topic which should answer your queries: https://www.macgregorsailors.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f...

Re: Where is everyone?

Thanks to Heath for updating this site. I have been looking of a site that develops an opportunity for sailors to touch base and to coordinate some sailing activities. This site provides the opportunity to do just that. Good Work Heath. Heath did not update the site most recently. Heath sold the si...

Kevin,

Your a friend, but that photo is inappropriate. A moderator should remove it. Is there one around❓

Sorry bro, but it really is inappropriate.

Ray

Re: Interior ladder

No, I don't think it is structural. Many folks make them swing up, so swinging sideways should work.
