Re: Mac 26X front window replacement

Yes, I'd imagine that would work quite well. That's what we used to use at Lotus Cars to install windscreens, which in that car were a structural element as well.

Re: Mac 26X front window leaking

Yes, I see now that the original forum post is still available (although for some reason I couldn’t find it in a search), and that Kevin was the author! here: http://macgregorsailors.com/phpBB/viewtopic.php?p=74566#74566) There is a bit of discussion there whether 5200 was the best choice so I hope...

Color me surprised.

The Chinese have been doing this for years. They used to make one that was a dead copy of the Mac, complete with black stripes.

Re: A Pennsylvania Lake to Dip In?

So... I took a few minutes to sort the list, and here are the only lakes in PA that allow a Mac with a 50+ hp motor to run on the lake: Blue Marsh Lake - Berks County Beltzville Lake - Carbon County Foster Joseph Sayers Lake - Centre County Curwensville Lake - Clearfield County Conneaut Lake - Crawf...

Re: A Pennsylvania Lake to Dip In?

I believe the regulation is that you can have a motor on the boat that's over the HP limit - that's not a violation. Starting it is. So, yeah, you'll see boats on PA lakes with large HP ratings, but if they start them they're in violation. That's why some have a smaller pony motor in addition to the...

Re: Bow Pulpit Crack in Stainless Steel Tubing 26M

The welded in repair may be stronger than the original tubing if done properly. I’m curating the second restoration of a 1958 Turner 950 sports car that I once restored as a youth. Through several owners subsequent to me the frame became badly damaged in accidents. The restoration shop ended up havi...

Re: Is There No Hope For The Widow’s Son?

Well, I can’t announce any commitments for anyone at this point, but I will say that as a result of the conversations and emails I’ve been working on today, the future of this forum may now have the potential to be much brighter. Much work still has yet to be done, but stay tuned... and keep the fai...

Re: A Pennsylvania Lake to Dip In?

Beltzville Lake is your best bet. Most lakes in PA have limits on horsepower such that the Mac's 50+ hp motors can't be used. However, Beltzville has unlimited horsepower and it's not that far from Route 81.

Ads used to run on this one. I'd imagine some sponsors would still like to advertise here and that small amount of revenue, combined with the contributions many of you give each year, should be enough to cover expenses.

Boat, you’re hijacking the thread. This thread is supposed to be about the future of the site and how to ensure it.

I’ve moved your topic to a separate thread.

Ray, I've removed your other post. We don't allow duplicate posting here on the forum and I think you're more likely to receive an answer in this thread than the other. Also, since this is your first post, it needed to be approved by an admin before it became visible to everyone. This approval proce...
