Re: Spinnaker/Cruising Chute!

Rocky, stop dreaming - just do it! :| Yeah Ross I know...when I borrowed John's spinnaker I thought I would be able to leave Lagoon City with it still in the boat but he remembered to ask for it back. I guess I should have given him a few shots of scotch before I left :D If anyone has used the Doyl...

Re: Spinnaker/Cruising Chute!

After Highlander let me borrow his OEM spinnaker I think I'm hooked. It's nice to be able to sail at a good clip in light wind. So i'm looking at purchasing a cruising spinnaker. Some have purchased the Doyle ATC spinnaker. My understanding is that it's a tri-radial cruising spinnaker. Just wonderin...

Re: MMOR V Ontario Canada Mac Rendezvous

Brian I should have been reefed in hindsight but only have the one factory reef which I thought would have been too little cloth up. Anyway I can do everything from the cockpit except reef. In those conditions I like to avoid having to go topside. It was fun but it sure tires you out. So adding to m...

Re: MMOR V Ontario Canada Mac Rendezvous

Kevin, nice to here you can make it. Those illegal bonfires are the best...The temperature dropped quite a bit last night...so how does it look up there? Looks like we'll have 5 boats up there. John will be joining us a little later with his boat I hope :? (lets keep our fingers crossed). I'm aiming...

Re: MMOR V Ontario Canada Mac Rendezvous

That's too bad Tom, I was looking forward to sailing with you since we only met last year at the launch ramp. Ross you and the admiral are welcome to stay on my boat since I'm pretty sure I'll be alone. John I'm rooting for you to get that engine working well ( or else you may have to be my cabin bo...

....He better be working on his boat...we all want to see him at MMOR in mid-July

Dave I use bungee cord too but to the lifeline by the stern rail seats, it does get in the way though.

Re: MMOR V Ontario Canada Mac Rendezvous

Wow that's bad luck Ross. It was quite the winter this year. I'm sure you have quite a bit of work ahead of you. Well if you can't make it to MMOR I'm sure we can meet up again in Port Credit later in the summer.

No worries john I actually had a brass one and used that. Yeah seeing what you've done had me working on my boat saturday when I got back home. I'm hoping to be out on the water again next weekend.

Re: Season's First Sail

Usually called a battery pack or booster pack. They have different types with different features. The one I have has a compressor, a little flashlight a twelve volt and usb socket and built in booster cables. I think it was on sale last week for about $80. They're found in the automotive section.

Re: Season's First Sail

Dave those battery packs are great. Canadian Tire usually has one of them for sale quite often. Many now also come with a usb port which comes in handy. Never needed to actually use one for dead battery yet but nice to have just in case.
