FYI The main landing page doesn't display properly on my phone (android) in portrait orientation. I can only see the menu items for forum etc by turning the phone to landscape

The people that have been around a while are trying to hang in but its been probably a month or more since I visited last. New users give it a try and gi...

Re: In-hull transducer
Terminology might be confusing here but if you meant a transducer that requires a hole, I would do rather go with a transducer that shoots thru the hull I have one of these mounted on the transom. http://www.hawkeyeelectronics.com/depthtrax/ The plastic bracket keeps breaking so I am moving it insid...

Re: Glue for 26X head door edging
Gorilla Glue worked for me. Trick with it is to dampen the surfaces slightly. It needs moisture to work best. It expands a lot so use sparingly

Re: Solar (again) with ACR
I have a combiner (acr) and have hooked up only one side of the dual charger. The combiner kicks in as expected. I haven't tried to hook up both sides of charger. I worry that it would create a short thru the combiner but that's just a guess. Next set up will be to connect batteries in parallel as o...

Re: Ballast leak
We had a crack in our ballast tank. In our case the water was collecting under the table/head area. The crack was on the inboard side of the port tank. Simple to fix once it was opened up but tracking it down involved cutting open the floor. Yours sound like it must be on the outboard side. Open flo...

Re: 26x Boom during a bridge crossing.
Just make sure the sliding companionway cover is closed. Otherwise things can go crunch. I angle the boom off to one side as its coming down too.

Loads of info on here regarding autopilots. Can't go wrong with the Raymarine EV-100.
Search google with ' site: macgregorsailors.com ev-100 ' . (This sites search function doesn't have much history left to it seems)

Mine stripped out too. A few years back I glued hardwood blocks in behind. Works good and simple solution
