Hello all,
Put money down on a slip yesterday. This will be our first year with a slip. Looking forward to seeing additional sailing time.
Do any of you have a season launch checklist that you use at the beginning of the season? I am taking the motor into a shop to have it repaired.
Thank you,
Curwen

My spring ritual includes attaching dock guards and bumpers to the dock. Then adjusting dock lines so the loop goes on the cleats and the boat stays in the middle.
Toss lines on dock when leaving and put loops back on cleats when returning. Fast and quick.
If you have shore power, you might look at how to run the power from the dock to the boat and secure it when leaving. Get a decent hose that can take the sun if you have water.

On the subject of hoses, some hoses are marketed as safe for drinking water. The materials used in a hose can contain high amounts of lead. There are articles on this. This is an excerpt from one.
“If you really want to be able to drink from the garden hose, then the safest way to do this is to buy a specific hose that is labeled as “drinking water safe”. These can be a little more expensive but worth the expense if you know you will want to use the hose for a drinking source.”
If you just want to wash down the boat, then any hose works. If you want to also use the hose to fill a bladder, or some water jugs for short trips, then take the extra steps and find a hose marked as safe to use for drinking water. Also, a hose that sits in the sun for long periods can develop contaminants which should be flushed out before use each time.
