Southport Sail
I am putting together a weekend sail for those close enough that want to join in.
Put in at Southport Marina on Fri. spend the night at the marina.
-$1.50/ft and $4 for electricity.
-Leave the trailers and vehicles across the street where we leave ours every weekend.
Saturday sail to Carolina beach or Masonboro sound on the outside or inside depending on the weather.
Spend the night on the hook and then sail back to Southport on Sunday.
Not too sure about the weekend, I am looking for suggestions but it will have to be 1 of the 3.
June 14-16, 21-23 or 28-30.
Everyone will be responsible for their own food and drinks. Possibly have dinner at one of the restaraunts Friday night and have beach cookout Saturday night.

Re: Southport Sail
Date set to June 14-16. Haven't heard from eric or opie yet. They probably won't make it cause it doesn't have a pirate name or theme but they are still invited
I will get with Southport marina and make arrangements just let me know vessel and crew of those attending.
Just give us your waypoints and expected arrival at each way point and call every couple of hours just in case that non-sailboat can't make it.fishheadbarandgrill wrote:Syzygy is in. 14-16 June better for us. Can't do 28-30 June.

Hey, since I'm still new and haven't been on the "outside" yet, I'll volunteer to crew for somebody sailing up to Masonboro. you can drop me off at the Snow's cut ramp (1/2 mile to the south of the island)
I'd love a chance to get soem experience from someone who knows more than I do.

Re: Southport Sail
If you are interested you can meet us at Southport Marina ramp this Friday for a meet and greet. Then see if you are still interested for the sail.SENCMac25 wrote:Hey, since I'm still new and haven't been on the "outside" yet, I'll volunteer to crew for somebody sailing up to Masonboro. you can drop me off at the Snow's cut ramp (1/2 mile to the south of the island)

Re: Southport Sail
Cap'n Ron,
Sorry not to have replied sooner, but I have been off-web for weeks due to travel and other things.
I was out sailing Monday and Tuesday of this week, 4 miles out and back east of Masonboro Inlet. 15 to 20 kts, some rain Tuesday.... not too much fun, but I got the kinks out of my sailing gear and my body also feels it.
Can not say that we can make your trip, sounds great and thanks for putting it together, but will see how it goes as the date gets here...
