Sailing near Montgomery Alabama

Post by jstyers »

Just discovered that I'm going to move from the Hampton Roads area on the Chesapeake Bay to Montgomery Alabama this summer.....anyone have suggestions for sailing near Montgomery?

Try lake Jordan or lake Martin. I grew up in that area. Ironically I currently live near the Hampton Roads area. I am familiar with the waterways in Alabama if you need any more advice.

Thanks, I found those and remembered Lake Martin from a previous trip to the area. Also considering a trip to the gulf coast and/or Lake Eufala

I lived in the Mobile area for several years. There is good sailing around Dauphin Island. Also check out Port St. Joe and Apalachicola, Fl. Plenty of protected sandy beaches to explore!
