Thanks for the offer but some friends in the yard looked at the bottom/sides from the ground and a friend will go aboard in a day or so to check the rest out. He lives in Port Charlotte and has a boat there so checks ours periodically,

We finally got cell service Wednesday 0950. No Internet other than cell phone no power, power company hopes to have it on by Monday or Tuesday. It is hard not to have AC or power. We do have a Honda 1000 EU which runs refrigerator and freezer and one fan or a lamp. No damage to house or boat we lost a few trees limbs. Right now we are busy removing trees that are on houses. there are a lot of trees down in the Frostproof area. Temperature today 94 F. 80% humidity. We are doing roof work in the morning and tree work in the afternoon. The whole frostproof area lost power because of a substation problem.

Good to hear you made alright, we are in about the same shape here. We did get internet back and got gas for the generator today, one or two weeks they estimate on the electric. Still have not heard from other Mac Florida down south, hope they just have no way to get any phone on internet yet.

Here's a cool site from NOA that lets you zoom in POST Irma. If you have a boat or house down there, this let's you see high res images.

!!!!!!!!           !!!!!!!!!

Oh no! I'm sad you can't even see my favorite campsite on Sugarloaf!!!   it's gone

I circled it in red so you guys can see it - it's a great place where they have a launch ramp too and slips for your boat and the campsite is right on the water so you can anchor your boat right off your campsite too!
I would park my motorhome right where that red circle is.

See the blue building just to the left of the campsite? That's the open air cabana with the bar inside where every evening there was a happy hour - it looks like it's destroyed.

This is terrible. I wonder if the iguanas survived. Now I'm gonna be sad all day.

Glad to hear the two of you are safe :) .

I finally bought and tried one of the LED bulbs and really like it. As much or more light than an equivalent incandescent bulb. Hopefully you won't be without power for long again but LED might give you the fan and the lamp or more than one light.

Hopefully for you and others power is back soon,

Hey ris! You don't have power back yet?? jimmyalonso in Puerto Rico said they lost power for six days - how many days will you be without power?? :?

In my Bible study on Tuesday we sent money to Florida and Puerto Rico, but I was the only person that had ever been in a hurricane before so none of us Californians have much of a clue what it's like. None of us even knew anyone in Florida except for me (my uncle lives on Marco Island). Not really sure money is going to get the power turned back on. You guys need power - without that it's going to be too hard to get anything done.

The power being restored has more to do logistics than money, they have to check all the lines to see if trees or other debris are on the lines, or under water, I know that some of us will be cut off from the grid. So they came get others on line. In my case their is a main line down and a tree on the other main line, and I am at the end of my service providers service area. So when they say one to two weeks I will most likely be on the two week end. The last time we had lines down it was a week and a half. That time it was not as wide spread as this time. In a few weeks we will all be going along like nothing even happened. It is improving each day all of my kids now have power, the gas station has gas, All of my friends are safe. Life is good and will get better each day. :D

Well that's good. If we can make phone calls and complain to someone on your behalf please let us know - that's the least we can do! :)

They need to get those electric lines hooked back up ! And they need to do it NOW! That's what your paying for when you send money to the utility bill. Coal to turn the turbines and people to fix the broken wires, and the rest of us want to be able to make phone calls and see pictures and get emails and stuff from your area and it's hard to do without electric power.

Man, how did we survive before electric power!?

All we had was wind and sun! Wonder what THAT was like!?

They say the power will be on Monday. We have lived all week without a red light at the intersection of 27 and 98 this is a 2 Lane Rd. intersecting a four-lane road. A lot of people do not know that a nonfunctioning traffic light should be treated as a four way stop. My wife cooked fry toast and a Fried egg for breakfast on our Coleman stove.tonight we had chicken and rice done in our Dutch oven over Charcol in the yard. My woman is a keeper. If she would clean the fish after she catches them she would be perfect.

Hi Richard and Jill,

So glad you were able to ride out the storm with no serious damage. Good of you to be helping out with tree limb and roof work. Be safe, and good luck with getting the power and AC back on soon.

Oh no, the trailers and motorhomes did not even make it out of Sunshine Key - man, this is really sad. At least the boats got out of the docks (they look destroyed).

I am just looking at all these pictures Russ sent from that satellite - man, this really sucks. Those people will be coming back to their trailers and they will all be knocked over.

What about the people living in the trailers? What will happen to them?
