I'm somewhat of a knothead, and I wasn't ever in the Navy :wink:

There are many sites which offer free nautical information in a manner which is easy to understand. Here is one on nautical terminology. http://www.boatsafe.com/nauticalknowhow/gloss.htm You will be able to converse with the saltiest of sailors.. :D
