Derek, On your boat, 1999 X, the ballast air pressure relief plug is at base of aft end of v berth under storage cover.Unless it's different position from my 1998.

Pee hole, to let you know your bilge is over flowing and insert a tube down and pump.
Sounds like my X wife.
Actually there should be a drain built in that flows aft and a drain plug at bottom of aft center.
This may not be possible because of the boats natural gravity line at keel but I still say on a Trailer you can get it drained most of the way by raiseing Bow.

Derek,
I live about 40 minutes from Greenwood Lake NJ. Are you keeping your boat at South Shore Marina? You will find many Mac owners there to ask questions. If you want we can arrange some time some weekend and I can go through the boat with you sometime. I was on Greenwood Lake the past 2 seasons, you will like it there. I am keeping my boat on the Hudson River this year.
Did you buy your boat from Nancy? Also, schedule some ASA sailing lessons with Steve, he is very knowledgable on the Mac.

Re: alcohol stove and other questions from a newbie.
Thank you all for your help.
I am already set for a course. Thanks for the info.
This weekend I am vacuuming the water out of the bilge. Then I have to concentrate on the caulking/sealing. I know i have a leak because when i picked up the boat there was water on the head floor and the cabin smelled a bit. Aside from what was already mentioned, where are the most common places that leaks come in? I would like to seal all of these areas.
Thanks,
Derek

Paulieb,
I bought the bought from Forked River Yacht sales and trailered it up to South Shore Marina. Nancy gave me the welcome tour. Very nice. This summer is going to be great.
