Mac dealer that sells yamaha

My 2005 Mac has a F 60TLRD yamaha motor.... The factory says they don't use Yamaha motors so they can't tell me what prop size I should be using. Does anyone know of a dealer That uses the Yamaha?

hang in there Ira I have the same motor and am working on it right now im trying a 11 3/8 x12 had a 10 5/8 x12 which may turn out to be better than the one I have now.

Boating Atlanta is a Mac and Yamaha dealer. Mark Lusink is the guy to talk to there - he sells T60 for Mac - not sure what he would say about f60 and the prop to use there. they do pontoons, fishing boats, and macs - so he might have some advice.

I have a Yamaha 2006 f50 and am trying to prop it as well. Was told by a dealer that there isn't much difference between a 50 and a 60. Mine came with a 11 1/8X13 and while it was okay, I couldn't reach full RPM at full throttle(ballast in or out). He advised trying a 10 5/8 X 12 and it sucked. RPM went up a little but boat speed went down for the same RPM. Am very interested in the outcome of your experiences. Ian

I have a 4 stroke Yammy 50 hp with a 12 x 3 x 9 pitch prop.
I have tried 4 other pitches ,and the 9 with big dog ears gets me to 17/18 mph at wot.

been there tried that. My contact called Yamaha direct they gave no help. my motor maxes out at 6000 at 15 top speed were are going to try a 11 5/8x12 or 13 something.
I guess this is one of the benefits from buying a boat from a dealer, just wasting time trying different props.

Has anyone changed props while out on the water with a 10 mph breeze whee what fun was that.

You may be interested in this. I now have a Solas 12X3X9 prop. Ballast out, fins up, leaning forward, I reach 4900rpm with a top speed over water of a little over 11knots with the F50Yamaha 4 stroke,2004 model, fuel injected, mounted on my 2006 . I can cruise at round 6knots with an rpm of 22-2300 rpm. As pointed out in discussions before, the slow handling is very good while docking with the larger diameter. Cheers, Ian

What RPM does the Yamaha 50 run at wot? I have a F60 with ballast out fins up and coastal crusing set up I get 4500 RPM at 13 kts...My motor should run at 5500 to 6000 Rpm at wot????? Throtle not opening all the way or? ....to heavy load for prop to handle?......Prop size 11 5/8 x 11-G any suggestions??

I bet if you find a similar prop to the 12X3X9 you are going to see the RPMs on the F60. For a boat this heavy the large diameter with smaller pitch seems to be the way to go. Your hi thrust model of engine though has a lower gear ratio in the leg so you probably won't want to go to a 9deg pitch. I think you can even go to a 14"diameter. So maybe a 14X3X10 or something in that area. Even on the Yamaha web site they recommend trying a few different ones. I know this is painful. I'm still a few revs short of the elusive 5500rpm with my 50 but am sticking with it anyway. Cheers, Ian
