After 47 years sailing some kind of sailboat I will leave the calculations up to someone else. The first sailboat I bought myself was a Hobie 16 in 1972 , I dare anyone tell me the hull speed of a Hobie Cat 16.

In 1972 I had a 19ft. Lighting and thought I was screaming across Hyannis Harbor doing someware in the 12 knot range when a Hobbie Cat wized by me like I was standing still!

Re: How fast is your Mac???
It is a well know fact the hull speed of a Hobie 16 approaches light speed as the inverse square root of the mass of the sailor nears equilibrium with the combined forces of apparent wind, wave and current. It's simple barnyard calculus.
My God but those things fly.
No head though...
