We now have two Plastimo tanks under the bow berth , a small one on the starboard side and a larger one on the port side for a total of 39 gallons of water .
I installed a thruhull Perko water fill as high up under the galley sink as I could get and teed both bladders to this , so that they fill at the same time. Before I drilled thru the hull , I added glass to the area to thicken the hull , so as to prevent any cracking , it worked as there was no problem , it made a clean hole.
The output lines run to a 'on demand' pump , that I mounted under the seat forward of the galley .
I glassed a board from the top of the ballast tube to the side of the hull and mounted the pump on it.
I teed the output lines together to go to the pump then teed the hot and cold side of the faucet together , so you get water no matter which way you turn the control handle.
I wondered how the boat was going to handle with 300lbs plus of water in the bow , if anything she seems to handle better , less "wandering" or so it seems. She isn't listing to the bow .
It might raise the stern out of the water when the Admiral and me get in this berth !
The bladders filled nicely , they are laying on top of some 1/4" silicon rubber mats , that I put down to lessen any chaffing .
Our only complaint is how noisy the pump is , when it runs , and how it cycles off/on/off/on if you turn the water on just a little . At present we don't have a front on our galley , perhaps after we get this enclosed it will lessen the noise .
I'm not sure if the pump has a way to reduce the water pressure or not , will look into that .
Overall we are very pleased with the system !
