I put a coat of wax on the boat in the spring and cover it in the winter. I see no signs of fading after 3 years and at our altitude the sun is wicked. I agree, you must maintain a boat and more so with a color. So far it's not been a problem with fading. But I agree, if you want lowest maintenance, buy a white one.
