Man, what a bunch of woosies you cold water types are! I'v been training my boy in shark and crocodile wrestling since he was 2! Actually in that photo where he is training with the blow up dummy, we are not far from Amity point where a woman got taken a few years ago (Amity point mmm wonder if that was named after that other Amity place in the US where that movie was made about that cute little white pointer back in the 70s )

I wrestle these and then eat them...

This is my first post. For 4 years all of you have helped me do everything from guiding my mods to changing my steering cable. Thanks to all.
I haven't stopped working on my X since I took it out of Lake George, NY the weekend before Thanksgiving. Current projects include building a wooden companionway door, adding a ballast vent-tube, and trying to figure out how to put on a swim platform. Does anybody have experience with the SMEV stoves? Haven't seen many posts, but the two-burner on ebay for $270 looks pretty good.

Ya may have been ere for 4 years but first post means you're this weeks Pizza buyer.
As to swim platform, are you going to hang some huge thing off the stern......... :( .
Just use a temporary one for when you are at anchor. These inflatable windsurfer/sailboat/kayak/tow toys are very stable. Tie one of these off at the stern or side. Two people can stand on em. They double as a tender that fits perfectly on the foredeck, and they can be packed away under the rear birth or V birth, no problems.

Yeah, I know my idea aint for everyone, but these huge swim platforms just dont seem right on this boat............. THey cant really be mounted at the right hight for a swim paltform, and I tend to think they could be dangerous.....

Welcome The-Strikes! Amazing that after four years of lurking you'd feel safe revealing yourself to this motley crew, 'This Band of Brothers'.
Actually, a swim platform is something I need to fabricate this spring, as well. My Admiral can only use her right arm and getting back into the boat is a giant PITA. So is getting the tender close enough to the engine well (M) for cleanly stepping off. To my mind there's no point in designing something that runs around the motor, and occupies both sides of the stern. Too big - and heavy! I think I can do this with 'off the shelf' ss bimini hardware and lightweight slats on the starboard (ladder) side, made fold-able and position-able and just big enough to facilitate one person at a time.
It'd be great to trade some drawn ideas for this!
