Holy shipstains!

Sure enough - same fail, same location - two cracks in recess where hold down bails are located. This is the 3rd Sealand/Dometic tank with this problem in 6 years. Short term fix to salvage the season... 5200 & duct tape.

Thanks for that pic. Now I know what to look for. I didn't even know it was a potential problem.

Mine came with the boat (cleaned, sanitized, and so far, never used :) ) I'm going to pull it out and give it a good look today, as the boat is in my driveway at the moment.

The next day I called them and they said, "Oh, it's you. We've been discussing your issue." Which took me back that the company was discussing my PP problem I had emailed service about the night before.
They sent me a brand new tank and it's been working fine ever since. No questions, just sent me a new one direct from the company. I like companies with that kind of service.
This is off-thread but I had a similar service story with a defective BBQ I ordered. The only question asked was to send a copy of original receipt by email. The courier arrived the next day with a new one. I didn't even know they were sending it. Best bbq for a boat, camping or balcony: http://cook-air.com/

I have a 2.5 gal PP right now...probably not worth the effort to install a pump-out pump or anything. We also have a 4" clean-out in our drain system to the septic tank, so that's my plan for now, but I'm keeping my eyes on this idea for the future.
