I still am a believer in the dual axle. Just looking at the capacity, the stock trailer is barely capable. Load range D tires are 2150lbs each so by my calculations that approx 4300 total. The dry weight of the Mac is 2550 and trailer is 575. I don't think Macgregor calculates the 340lbs my motor weighs in the dry weight. So just adding 340lb motor, plus 24 gallons of fuel at 149lbs, the Mac is at 3614lbs without a single piece of gear onboard which is pushing the capacity of those tires too close for my comfort.mastreb wrote:I guess I'm still the lone naysayer on dual axles. I love the maneuverability of the single axle, and honestly I'm quite sure I've abused my trailer with the best of them. The stock axle is more than sufficient for even a laden boat.

I think Highlander is the leader with his 6000 lbsmastreb wrote:and honestly I'm quite sure I've abused my trailer with the best of them.
