First post. We are from Northern California. So far we have sailed on Folsom Lake, Jenkinson Lake and Union Valley Reservoir I'm a new boat owner I bought a 2000 Mac 26X October 2015. I've never owned a boat or sailed anything until July of 2015. After more classes and experience I would like to play out on the Delta and eventually go out on the tamer parts of the San Francisco Bay and Lake Tahoe.
I've scared myself many times but usually all my problems are answered with a few searches here. It seems to sail great with winds up to 13mph. I pull down the sails and motor when it gets above 15 mph until I get the reefing lines installed.
So far I have converted the trailer to disk brakes, Just got done replacing the centerboard line (thank you for all the tips here probably the easiest job I've done in my life)
Next couple of projects are a Bow Anchor Roller and getting the single line reefing kit installed. The mail sail already has the BWY sail upgrade with jacklines and sail slugs.
If there are any Northern California or Bay area Mac owners or groups I'd love to go out sailing with you and learn from you.
Kevin
Thank you

Re: Thank you
Welcome aboard. Sounds like you are just the type person that lurks around here. We (most) have all started the same way you are. From where you're at it just keeps getting better for a long time, hopefully 15 or 20 years.
By the way, there is a tradition. Newbies by the pizza.
