Hello all....
Looking for some advice on qualifying some upgrades for the my 89 26D.
If my sails are not blown out, I am strongly considering sending my main in to have slugs added.
If I add the slugs, I am also strongly considering adding a lines aft kit so I don't have to leave the cockpit to manage my sails.
This summer, I am in a slip, so the importance of adding a Johnson lever has been put off this year.
Anything that should be done before these upgrades?
Thank you,
Curwen

You’ll never regret running lines to the cockpit. So much fun to sit back and haul the main up.

There is a mod that I plan on doing. Running halyard lines in BOTH directions. Because it's nice to raise the main but also nice to lower it from the cockpit.
Jim K. had this mod. The halyard is a loop so he can pull it up AND down. He matched this with lazy jacks so he never has to go up on deck. Total Brilliance.

Russ.
Thank you for that...adding lazy jacks as well.
Is that different than a down haul?
I don't have a rolling furler, but it there a way to use a down haul into a bag for my hank on jib?
Thank you,
Curwen

Lines run to cockpit, with downhaul, lazy jacks and stack pack, all different.Curwen wrote:Russ.
