Just bought a Tattoo 26. Looking for other sailers near Rochester, MI

I’m new to the forum and a new owner. I’ve sailed while in college and from time to time on smaller boats. Still getting used to my boat and was hoping to find a few friends in the metro-Detroit area that can guide me to the preferred ramps/launch sites, show me the correct way to set up the mail, etc. I’ve watched several of the YouTube videos and have read the owner’s manual, and stumbling through.

I guess that there are no Macgregor or Tattoo owners in your immediate area. I have had my 26M at Lake Erie Metro Park marina for the past 6 years and find that it is fantastic as it gives me the option of sailing at the mouth of the Detroit River in great conditions most of the time. In heavier winds, we sail up the Detroit River into more sheltered waters. PM me if you would like to hook up for a sail on my boat, although time is getting short as we have to pull the boat before October 31, 2019. Sooner if the weather turns. Thanks for the reply. I tried to reply or PM, but it didn’t work. I would like to talk this winter or early spring, if possible so I can get off to a good start in 2020.

The fall sailing was very hectic. We managed to get out a few times on weekday afternoons and had great wind. Had to sail up the river to sheltered waters North of Grosse Ile a couple times. Pulled the boat on October 29th and just barely got it cleaned up and shrink wrapped before the first snow fall. I look forward to hooking up with you in the spring. In the mean time, PM me again with your email address and we can communicate through the winter and maybe I can answer some of your questions.
