i think that would be very cool. i wonder how it would look with a stainless plate for gelcoat protection and a stainless danforth anchor. something for my back burner/consideration list. my lists have lists at this point. and even they have sub lists. lol! very cool mod though. i hope all goes well with trials.

Bro, I would have never chosen that anchor, but you have done a fantastic job. It looks fantastic. Hats off to your glass/gelcoat skilz. Very cool.

Video of Anchor testing... 8)

Yes it is slightly noisy... :o

Yes I hooked the trailer twice... (which hopefully won't be there when really anchoring... or I have other much bigger problems) :|

First time works like a charm... Second time, ok it's up... luckly the tips are blunted and vinyl coated. :)

Can't wait for the sea (ok river first) trials... (yea back up anchor is on board.)

OMG :o wow, looks pretty cool. Do you plan on putting some kind of plate where anchor rests against hull or did you reinforce that location?

how did you choose the diameter of tube to use? Oh also, at Swantown boatworks in Olympia, I did see a motorboat with this type of mounting, and they had a danforth anchor, and they had a few planks of wood around the hole. I didnt think to take a pic, but if its still there tomorrow, I'll snap off a photo.

It will be interesting to see the effect of your mod on the notorious swing and sway of the X on anchor.

Let us know......
